Hacking Acekard 2i help?

I just bought an Acekard 2i from RHS and I'm having problems playing any game.

I've tried Pokemon Diamond, Heart Gold and Mario Kart DS, and none of them are really working.
- Heart Gold, I usually get to the title screen and it'll freeze after that. I've gotten as far as Oak asking my name and that's about it.
- Mario Kart, I've gotten to the Character Select screen and it tells me the game card has been removed. More times than not, the game doesn't even load after the yellow loading screen.
- Diamond just doesn't load, period. White screen after the yellow loading.

I'm using AKAIO 1.8.5 and I've tried turning AAP, cheats, DL play on and off and nothing helps.
I downloaded 1.8.1 to try it and everything gave me Processing...do not turn off power.

I've reformatted my SD card, too, and still no results.

Any ideas?

If you are using a DSi XL, pulling the cart slightly out of the slot after insertion has been known to work. Insert the Acekard into the XL's cart slot normally until it locks in position. Once locked without depressing the cart pull it out slightly. You shouldn't be able to pull out by much as it should still be locked in position.
