I just had to bring this topic up again, I received my card the other day and it looks exactly the same as the pictures above, with the black PCB and the grill over the contacts. When I go to the Start/Help it also says HW 44/SVN 824, it runs the latest AKAIO 1.62c fine and seems to work the way the real cards work with roms such as using Xenophobia's patch on the ind release of Dementium II and holding X to make Blue Dragon work.
I've had a few no card inserted and games freezing but apart from that it seems to act normally, so do we know what the consensus is, clone or real.
I got it from Console Repair/wii-chip.co.uk who I've ordered a few cards from and got the real thing, plus they're really quick, you normally get your order within two days, so I have nothing but good things to say about them.

It's interesting that yours is from a UK store as well as mine, and we both have the same build by the sound of it. I'm guessing hanger.org.uk and wii-chip.co.uk use the same supplier. I haven't had any trouble with mine so far. Working perfectly. It's not as easy to remove from the ds as retail cards or my Cyclo DS (doesn't pop out without a harder press) but apart from that I can't really complain.

Like you I decided to just enjoy it while it lasts. If it dies on me it'll be a good excuse to replace it with a DSTWO

@cowboycoder77, yeah mine's quite difficult to pull out the DS as well and like you I've not really had any problems with it.
I checked out where you got yours from, thinking maybe they were the same people trading with different websites but apart from doing the same services they seem to be based at opposite ends of the country, so I think your're right they must have the same supplier.
Anyway enjoy and as you said good excuse to replace it with a DSTWO if does break.

I wouldn't worry guys. Its true we don't know for certain they're clones, but a signature of a clone is that it doesn't work properly.
