Hacking About Kingston MicroSD's?

People keep recommending the japanese MicroSD's. Why the emphasis on japanese Kingstons? Are only the ones sold in Japan good? I'm looking at this:

and I don't know if it's the same high-performance product everyone recommending.

1/2GB Kingstons are of much better quality if they're made in Japan, for 4GB Kingstons it doesn't really matter if they're made in Japan or Taiwan.

I have a 2gb made in Japan and it works well. A friend of mine said he had trouble with one from Taiwan so I'd say go with Japan.

It's not about sold in Japan, but made in Japan cards are faster. The one on the website doesn't seem to indicate so it's a gamble on whether its a made in Japan or a Taiwan, etc..

I have a 2GB Kingston Taiwan and it actually performs about the same as my 4GB Kingston Japan. I'm pretty sure the difference between Taiwan and Japan isn't too noticeable.

Isn't it something to do with speed decline as the microsd gets closer to capacity with taiwan microsds?

Mine says Japan on it too, and mine is a 2gb. It works great
