In games such as Pokemon DPPt you can save about anytime. Is it possible to run out of "save" space and if true then how much KB/MB of save space would you have to use for it to become "full". Thanks.

No it doesnt "saves until it runs out of space" Once it's save it has already run out of space left, the "keep saving" Means it's Overwriting (modifying) the save file so you can use it over and over and over it's already run out of space

Most games have 265k of Save data most games have 512k of save data, Some new or special games like Chinatown wars and pokemon Platinum has over 1mb of save file

I've always thought that they kept all previous save files to use as backup but now know that that would be inefficent. Thanks for the quick response!

Actually, they keep exactly one. That is also the reason for having to save twice if your linker does not support large save types, which used to be an issue with the GBA Pokémon.
