I Used windows anytime to upgrade my Toshiba, It tried to upgrade, but it said failure on window upgrade, so it restarted, and said start-up repair Attempted repair, and then it said it fix it, but after that it restarted once again, and during the restart my computer won't turn on.

Idk know whats the problem is it my battery or mother board?.

Heres my Computer:

Does it POST? Can you access the BIOS? What happens when you press the power button, do any fans spin up/screen turn on or does nothing happen at all? When you plug in the charger, does it show the laptop is charging? Have you tried turning it on while it's unplugged? Have you tried turning it on without the battery (just using the power supply)?

The orange bar just came on while charging for the battery also, when I press the power button nothing comes on at all nor does fan, also I just tried all of what you just said, but nothing works.

Ok, so when you try turning it on with the battery out and the power supply plugged in, nothing happens correct? This would most likely mean something has gone on the motherboard.

Nothing happens at all. How much would it cost to repair the mother board?.

It would really depend on the shop you take it to.

How long ago did you purchase the laptop? It might have a limited warranty on it from Toshiba, and assuming you didn't mess with the laptop itself it might be covered for it. You can check here: http://support.toshiba.com/warranty

Nope my warranty expired last year lol.

Try removing the battery , unplugging the power supply & pressing the power button a few long presses. Sometimes extra charge build up & the motherboard refuse to boot for safety measures.

It would be a weird coincidence for it to happen during the time you were updating windows, but then again I never heard of windows install messing the motherboard either so give it a try

Well my best guess is either something went wrong in the bios or the battery/charger is faulty . To test the battery/charger do the same process and try to boot with only one of them attached.

If it still refuse to work try clearing the bios by removing the CMOS battery. Just follow this guide till step 3 (you can leave the hdd cover alone), remove the battery for 10-30 min & click the power button a few times before reinserting the battery and hope it boots.

Well that's not good. You should never leave a metal object loose inside a computer as that is something that can ruin the motherboard.

Don't attempt to boot again till you find what is loose & fix it in place.

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze

same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in

    it's dumb

    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
