How do I use this? I don't see any Instructions on how to use this. Confused.
Download the program on page 1.
Scan it for viruses of course.
Extract the files into a nice neat folder and name it whatever you want. I name it 1.5.1 for simplicity.
Download this file:
http://localhostr.com/files/47f04c/r4ysg_v...st1_exeonly.zip and extract it. I extracte dit into a folder called 1.5.2. Take the files that you extracted from this zip and cut & paste them into the first folder you created to replace the "old" files.
Go into the first extracted folder with the extracted files and double click on the exe and follow the really nice GUI from there. There is even download links for all the latest files you need. You do need to unzip the iblo.dat (spelling is incorrect) but the dat file needs to be extracted so that a2h's gui sees the dat file. YSMenu's zip archive can remain archived. Doesn't get any better than that.
For how you would like the YSMenu to be used you have 3 choices.
1) Replace firmware....only use this if you only want to use the YSmenu exclusively.....you will not have the r4 1.18 or 1.23 firemware of gui anymore ever.....not good if you watch dpg's or listen to music.
2) Use as media. Which means that when you start up the DS and the R4 1.18 or 1.23 interface comes up, when you tap the middle icon, YSMenu will start instead of moonshell. I use this cause I have one 2gb Micro dedicated to games and another dedicated to movies and music.
3)Use as a NDS. Basically it will a2h's gui will produce a nds file that you can launch from tapping the games icon on r4's 1.18/1.23 gui and then select the ysmenu nds file and ysmenu will launch.
If you don't understand just look at the auto r4 post and it will explain the logistics of what is happening.
To a2h, I had been doing the auto way using command line and all I have to say is thank you very much for taking the time to design this gui. I am extremely impressed and thankful and it saves a lot of time.
