a visa gift card is like a credit card with a prepaid amount. anyone that accepts visa should work. all the site sees is a visa card. it should work

Why not just apply for a credit card and have the problem resolved that way? A lot of banks will even do a secured card if you have bad credit, so there's no excuse not to get one.

Yeah debit works the same as credit cards for these things (notice the eshop only says "credit card"). The only difference is that you're spending money you have, not money you have been credited.

You could always buy a regular flashcart and use the new TWLoader that runs the 3ds like a dsi and lets you use older flashcarts that aren't suppose to work in the 3ds. (TWLoader should let you load roms directly from sd card in future)
So if you've already got an r4 that isn't compatible with 3ds, I'd give that a try first before buying a new one.

lol can someone just confirm if visa gift cards are allowed or not??
im so confused because one person said no, the other say yes
You have to be careful with the Visa gift cards. I have tried to use them before for PayPal and websites and they didn't work.

I'm talking about a prepaid Visa or Mastercard debit card. There are a bunch of different kinds, but I've always had good luck with Netspend. They sell them at gas stations and grocery stores near the gift cards. You take them to the register and hand them the money you want to put on it (plus a $4-5 fee). Then you take the card home, activate it on their website or over the phone and then you can use the card. They send you a personalized one with your name within 2 weeks, but you can use the temporary card you get in the package to pay a website or PayPal no problem.

Also, they are the same as prepaid "debit" cards. But you can use them like a credit card online, as long as it has the Visa or Mastercard symbol.

Edit: I found a picture of what they look like in a store, this is the Netspend card I got and there's also a PayPal brand one that also works.

Make sure you check the fees too, most cards charge you like a $1 fee for every transaction.
