Last year I loaded up a handful of my backups onto a flash drive, and they all ran fine. Today I deleted a few I was done with, and tried to move over a few more, but they're not booting in USB Loader GX. I had to reformat my computer recently, so I don't know what software I had to properly transfer the files to the USB drive so that USB Loader GX will run them. I've tried Wii Backup Manager, and it seems so be doing what it needs to, but these two new games simply are NOT working on the Wii. I've double checked with the SHA1 and on Dolphin, and they're definitely not corrupt. Please help.

Wii Backup Manager or Wiimm's ISO Tools.

If you're using a flash drive that could be your problem.
Yeah, the Wii Backup Manager is what I've been using, but the website for the latest release doesn't seem to be working right, so I had to hunt down an older version, sadly. I will check out Wiimm's ISO Tools. Thanks for the tip.

(I just checked and the website is fixed. I'm gonna try the latest release now, even though the changelog doesn't give me any confidence since none of the changes are relevant bugfixes)

As for the flash drive, I have heard that it can cause issues. It's just strange that the 6 games I already have all run fine, it's only these latest additions that are causing problems. :(

Why isn't the latest version working for you? It works just fine for me.
Also one question, what's better for transferring DL DVD games to USB? WBM or WIT?
ah, I mean the link on the website, a few days ago, was not redirecting to the download page. I checked as I was typing the previous post and it's fixed now.

Also, if you're asking me what's better for transfering, I am the wrong guy to ask. I have never used WIT so I can't say if it's better. The only DL DVD Wii game I own is Smash, but I ripped it years ago.

There's only one game title that Wii Backup Manager has issues with: Super Smash Bros Brawl. You should use WIT for it. Everything else is fine under WBM.

WiiWare demos? You mean the masterpieces?
No, the SSBB disc contains demos for some WW/VC games that you can install from the disc.
They are indeed what are called "masterpieces" in-game, you don't install them (they run directly from the disc, or maybe they're installed and autodeleted when returning to SSBB), I think I've heard of a way to install them... but they're the same as the retail VC versions apart from the TMD/ticket (don't remember) having a time limit set

Ah. Thanks. I wasn't sure, I just knew they weren't processed properly. It's likely it doesn't affect the Smash gameplay at all unless you try to run them but bad image is bad image. :)

If it's just in the metadata it's likely they could be patched to be full versions.

This (using dedicated software to transfer files to the proprietary WBFS filesystem) is one of the most inefficient ways I ever tried to manage my Wii. Use a backup loader that supports NTFS, use that for Wii games storage. You'll be able to use your games, unsplit, in ISO format and putting new ones on there is as simple as an FTP client, or plugging the drive into a PC and dragging and dropping the ROMs onto it.

I don't recommend NTFS because only Wii backups work with it. No GC, no emuNAND, no NEEK, no HBC. Just use FAT32 with split games for the Wii.

Use what you like, I suppose. I find it inferior. As for FTPing to a Wii? If you like dog slow, go ahead.
