I'm looking into running some CFW on a PSP to play all the games I missed. Just a few quick questions.

1) What model PSP's are/aren't functioning with CFW?
2) Are any games not running on CFW?
3) What about PS1 games? Do I need a particular model to play this?
4) Does the PSP need to have a particular official firmware before it can run CFW?
5) What memory stick should I buy to accompany my PSP purchase?
6) Can the PSP emulate any consoles other than PS1?
7) Just to double check: all I need is a PSP and memory stick and I can get all the free games I want?

Most of your questions are answered here:

1 - So, based on that, it seems that virtually all PSPs can have some sort of CFW, whether it's permanent or not.
2 - No idea about the games that don't work though.. you might have to look around for that.
3 - You shouldn't need a particular model for PS1 games, as there is an official emulator for those on the PSP.
4 - Yes, but there are different CFW's for different OFW's, so check out the FAQ/Guide for that.
5 - Well, official Sony memory cards are usually recommended, but you don't *have* to use those.. I don't really know much about different memory cards.

and finally, check the retro emulators thread.

hope I helped =P

1) None
2) Possibly, because some of the very early releases worked in different ways to newer ones, but it's so rare the answer is essentially "No, they all work."
3) No. Every PSP has access to it's native ability to play PSX games.
4) Yes, CFW's are firmware specific...takes a couple of minutes to update.
5) Avoid adapters. Sony Sticks can be slow, so although cheaper aren't optimal. If you want the best it'd be a Sandisk Ultra II Pro Duo. Otherwise just a regular blue Sandisk stick.
6) Yes
7) No.
