So, I have backed up my US copy of brawl. Getting ready to use wiiscrub to downsize it, and put it onto a DVD. Now, is that all I need to do? What are the requirements for Wiigator's backup loader?

Also, I am running my Wii on 3.4, does this effect it badly?

Thanks for all the help! I'm just new to the backing up part! :]

Wiiscrubber does not make it smaller as a file it just makes it compress better by erasing the junk in the .ISO

if you want to stop on 3.4
copy twilight hack beta2 onto wii
install HBC
run iso16.wad through wad manager 1.3
start up wad manager 1.3 iso16.
run ciosfix.wad
than install gamma /ciosrev7

My Wii has HBC on it, and is on 3.4

So, looking at this, I found this little step-by-step thing.

QUOTEStep 1 Lets assume you have already updated your Wii to the latest Firmware.
Step 2 Install the ‘Homebrew Channel’ onto your Wii if you dont have it already (see below)
Step 3 Put the contents of this zip onto your SD Card.
Step 4 Using the ‘Homebrew Channel’, open ‘WAD Manager 3’.
Step 5 Press ‘A’ on the WiiMote once. The Wii should detect a SD Card. Press ‘A’ again to see a list of WADs on the SD Card. Use the ‘D-Pad’ to select ‘IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad’.
Press the ’+’ to install the WAD. Once it has installed the WAD, press the ‘Home’ button to restart you Wii.
Step 6 Using the ‘Homebrew Channel’, open ‘Custom WM’. Now using the same method as in ‘Step 5’, install the ‘cios_fix.wad’. Once it has installed the WAD, press the ‘Home’ button to restart you Wii.
Step 7 Using the ‘Homebrew Channel’, open ‘IOS Downgrader’. Just follow the instructions and wait until it finishes installing the necessary IOSs.
Step 8 Using the ‘Homebrew Channel’, open ‘Install Shop IOS51’. Say ‘Yes’ to installing the ‘IOS51’ and ‘Yes’ to patching a fix but ‘No’ to the ‘Wii Shop Channel’
(it shouldn’t matter if you install but it won’t make any difference).
Step 9 Using the ‘Homebrew Channel’, open ‘WAD Manager 3’.
Step 10 Now you should be able to install WADs. Try installing the ‘WAD MANAGER V3.wad’ (use this channel to install any WADs in the furture) and ‘Wii Gator.wad’.
Other apps should also work as well such as ‘AnyRegion Changer’.

Will this downgrade my Wii? Will it do anything to stop the channels from working? I just wanna make sure I won't be messing anything up here ^^

No that method (iso downgrader) will just replace your iso's with earlier versions so you can install wads and run apps. You will still be on 3.4 but be able to play backups.
If you want to downgrade follow this
tutorial
i have done all this and on 3.2e and running sweet
just make sure you choose correct region (3.2X = E / U / J)

Ahh I see. Okay, well then. I'd really rather stay at 3.4, so should I just follow the steps I found?
Yep, after Step 8
install ciosrev7 and your all set
here is link for gamma and cios rev7 (ciosrev7 will install over the ciosfix)

Okay I got myself lost again.

Where can I obtain all the stuff required for this? I've just got the Gamma and Wad Manager. ISO16? CIOSFIX? IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad?

Do all these come with the launcher?

No, that all doesnt come with the launcher.

Take a look at HSG, will get you started. Take a look on Firmware and Downgrading.

Though, my guide instructs you to downgrade on 3.2.

And, if you're going to softmod, go to the best firmware (3.2)

Won't you do that if you've a PSP (1.5)?
