I accidentally updated my switch to 6.1.0 now it asks me to update the controllers. I heard that it blocks some rcm booting tools. I use tinfoil to boot into rcm mode. If i do the update will it block the tinfoil method ? Thanks in advance.

Tinfoil should still work though I personally don't recommend it. Try getting a jig made from soft metal or a detached soldered joycon rail.

As far as the update, I think it only messes with joycon that have been soldered to ground pin 10. If it detects a joycon with pin 10 grounded it may not work.

Got 2 jigs from ebay none of them worked
Do you have ones that are paperclip ones? If there is the metal loop at the back of the jig and when it's out the 2 pins are not at the base of the jig just gently (I did a little bit of force) on the loop to push it onto the contacts.

I bought a jig from ebay and and it wasnt working untill I noticed that the jig must not be pushed all the way down. When I use it I push it down and then pull it back just a little bit and then launch rcm. This way I got it working everytime.

Lol funny you mentioned that loaded up Mario oddesey asked for update then I realized controller asked for one out of no where I said what ever then realized my system was updated :/ then just updated sx all working fine so far.

Didn't even realize my internet was connected I usually delete my wifi
just forgot doesn't stealth disable it from updating ?
