To be honest I'd just update to 5.5.1 now. The kexploit still isn't patched, but we do have webkit....so I dont' see a reason to stay on 5.5.0. Just update to 5.5.1.

But if you're on 5.4.0 stay where you are for now...I guess.

Just don't update. Maybe Nintendo patched other (not known?) bugs in the browser they might have found, which means less entry points.

As far as I know it's permanent... it will only go if you update your firmware online (or once we have the IOSU access I guess...)

This has been talked about already, many times.
There IS a 5.5.0 exploit, but it's currently private.
You'll just have to keep waiting. Otherwise, you should have stuck with 5.4.0.

I was able to install the update patch for SMM on 5.4.0, but I had to nuke my savedata. Not that I really cared, I didn't do much because the majority of the game comes from online use, which I had none of because of one stupid idiot...

You might have to do the same so
