This just started happening a few days ago.
This issue happens on Tumblr.
I tried searching up solutions for this famous errors,
but Google comes up with sites trying to get you to download something,
or repeat the same solutions (that don't work for me) on various websites. :$

What usually happens is,
it works after minutes of waiting,
then after a while on Tumblr,
its back to the 404 error. -_-

Any solutions?
Thanks a lot! (:

Doesn't work either, but thanks for trying to help anyways. ):

Any other solutions? :/

EDIT: I tried Tumblr on IE again, and it works there but not on chrome.. what's up with that?

try it through a proxy on proxy.org. If that doesn't work then it's something to do with your pc. If it does work then it's your ISP's DNS server cocking up (sounds like it if it is intermittent). Change your DNS anyway to google DNS http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/ and see if that helps.

Cool, so my ISP's DNS server is being dumb, as Tumblr has worked on a proxy server.
I'll try changing my DNS to Google's and tell you what happens..

Sry for double posting, and sry for the stupid question

I'm testing the new settings, and Google says to "roll back" your DNS changes you made and run the tests again. What does "roll back" mean exactly?

I don't even know why I asked this, cause test 1 works perfectly.

Switch back to your previous DNS settings.

That's what it means.

Sometimes the 404 happens on the Temp aswell.
Generally it fixes itself (meaning that the temp is
probally down for maintenance).
But pretty unlikely for Tumblr to be down though...

This problem only happens for me, so i'm pretty sure Tumblr isn't down..

Ok, so I changed it back, and all tests run perfectly!

So, do I put in Google's DNS back and leave it be (it doesn't say in the test :$)?
Use OpenDNS.

It's better.
