Hello,

I would like to install .NSP games. But :
-I don't want to go online at all (My switch never saw the internet :whip:)
-I want to stay in 4.1 / be able to downgrade to 4.1

Is my only solution updating to 5.1 without burning fuses ? (https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-...nofficially-without-burning-any-fuses.507461/)
And use south park's xci for devmenu ?

Do you think TX will provite soon an easy way to install .NSP ?

Thanks :grog:

Which way of installing nsp do you mean?
Because AFAIK, only SX OS allows you to install it thru devmenu (and it should work on any FW). And it is super easy (although I don't know if Southpark will work).

I think hes looking for a way to install NSPs without using dev menu, which will need Pokemon quest...which will require him to go on the internet

Yeah, sorry. I'm not super clear. I'm OK with SX OS + devmenu. But isn't pokemon quest needed to run devmenu with sxos ?
I have read somewhere that south park can run devmenu, but 5.1 is needed.

You can play south park with firmware 4.0.1 so with SX OS v1.3 and devmenu (which supports south park) you should be able to install nsp's.
eShop .nsp Install Instructions/Example at current state of the art
Requirements: You have 2 options installing our eShop releases
1) Pokemon Quest from eShop (free!) using official firmware
2) South Park: The Fractured But Whole (.xci release by BigBlueBox)
Boot into your licensed SX OS v1.3 custom firmware.
Unzip devmenu.zip (included) to the root of your SD card
Run Pokemon Quest / or / South Park to start DevMenu.
Install from SD: select our .nsp package
Exit game or restart SX OS. Start new game icon and enjoy playing!
Online access to game updates currently possible (even banned ones)
For complete offline installation use the South Park method.
Note: other games from your library may work as replacement
if you adjust the DevMenu on SD card with other Title ID
Maybe next time you can naturally load the .nsp from SX OS

Thank you. Is renaming the folder with the South Park Title ID needed?

I just tried a few games (including south park) and none of them works. corrupted game error or "the software was closed because an error occured". Again : I'm on 4.1

Did you try what I asked before?
I mean renaming your sxos/title/01005D100807A000 folder with the Title ID of the donor game you use.

It seems you have to be on 5.1.0 to do this (source):
Assuming you have SXOS 1.3 on your SDCard (and your Switch is on 5.1.0 firmware ... to be confirmed) :
1. Download bayonetta JPN XCI on your favorite dump site (i can't post a link for that) and put the XCI on your SD Card
2. Download DevMenu archive (i think i'm not allowed to put a link for that too)
3. Rename the folder in titles as 010076F0049A2000 (this is Bayonetta game ID)
4. Replace main.npdm in \sxos\titles\010076F0049A2000\exefs\ with the one here (patched with Bayonetta game ID)
5. put the sxos folder at the root of your sdcard
6. put any NSP you want to install at the root of your SDCard and put it back on your switch
6. after booting with SXOS, select Bayonetta cartridge in the Album menu and start the game
7. DevMenu should start instead of Bayonetta
8. Select Install from SDCard and go on to install the games
9. "Eject" Bayonetta with X button to let the installed game appear

Some users reported a freeze with version 4.1.0 :(

I can pretty much confirm this.

The leaked DevMenu is said to be only compatible with 5.1. Don't know for sure, but I tested it on my 4.1 with several eShop games (FAST RMX, World of Goo, Shovel Knight, and some others), and none worked. Always the same error screen OP says.

It's not because of DevMenu, it's LayeredFS doesn't work on firmwares but 5.1.0 so either wait for TX custom installer or upgrade

Thank you for clearing this up. Should be sticked to the top of every LayeredFS thread.

Thanks. Then, my only solution - without going online - is rajkosto's update + south park ?
Yes, rajkosto's guide may look daunting but it is detailed and user-friendly to ensure that you will not burn your fuses while being on the latest firmware. It just looks long to prevent people from making mistakes.

Ok I'll probably do it. Will I be able to go back to 4.1 without any issue ?

As long as you created a backup with CTCaer's mod of Hekate v3.0 or higher, you will be fine. The reason I say that is because lower versions did not have proper verification built in to check whether the backup was corrupted or not.

I'm on firm 4.1.0 & these are the results of my tests

SX OS + LayeredFS = Freeze
Hekate + LayeredFS = Devmenu working ok (unable to install nsp because the signature bypass)

Both cases using SMO as donor

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

So, why don't you wait for next sx os update?, clearly it's something wrong with the os that could be fixed in next releases considering that layeredfs is working on 4.1 with hekate.
