3DS Encode for Mac OS
Updated to the new working version. Since i didn't find any avconv binary for Mac OS on the internet, i obtained the source code, compiled it and bundled it for you.

This is my problem....

Do I need to do any thing with the bin folder?

Work in Progress.. i was just editing that post. The error is because the binary is using >=10.6 functions. I will try to make it work on Leopard, but faster would be updating your system.

EDIT::
I tried something out, please replace the binary in 3DSEncode.app/Contents/MacOS with this one:

Sorry not being funny or anything, but i'm a total noob... how and what do I do with this file?

Well, you must have done something wrong. I uploaded the complete bundle, try this one:

Okay, last try.. Replace the avconf file in the bin directory with this one:
https://rapidshare.com/files/717556306/avconv
If it is not working i am out of ideas and if you want to use the software you have to upgrade to at least 10.6.

Thanks dude. But it aint working.... It says it's converting but doesn't actually do anything.

I guess i'll have to clean my mac up and get 10.6 running

Pardon my noobness. I have a pc with Ubuntu 11.10 and I tried to install FFmpeg with this tutorial LINK. The thing is that when I press convert I get this error screen with so many words. The only thing I understand is the word "mismatch". How do you install FFmpeg correctly?

You don't need ffmpeg. What you need is libav, especially the avconv binary.

I just wanted to say that I downloaded this file on my Macbook Pro, and it worked beautifully on a 3D trailer I downloaded from YouTube. First I tried encoding at the default settings, which made the video quite blocky and the 3D effect not very pronounced, then I put quality at 1 (best) and FPS at 24, and it looked brilliant :)

The clip I got didn't have the best 3D, but there is a few parts in the clip that show good effect. Thanks so much for this! I look forward to when the 10 minute autosplit can be implemented so I can try some films :) Keep up the great work Spidey_BR and theflippa!

If anything for me it works great, except that obviously I'd like autosplitting every 10 minutes, and also there is a filename restriction, for some reason it only lets you save as VID_XXXX but videos and pics on my 3DS are HNI_XXXX, is there a way where this restriction could be lifted? It's not a big deal though, I can rename after...Thanks again guys!!!! :D

For those interested, I am running OSX 10.6.8 Snow Leopard on a Macbook Pro 13" from 2010

I have now updated to snow leopard 'theflippa' and it still isn't working... Can you talk me through it please!

Edit:

I updated from 10.6 to 10.6.8 and it did the trick!

The only thing now that would be handy would be a volume increaser built in. Anyone?!?
