Hardware 3DS XL/LL flashcart compatibility?

I dunno. If I can remember my DSi LL blocked certain (cheap) flashcarts which worked on DSi.

I have intentions to get a 3DS LL but I have no idea whether the present flashcarts work on the 3DS LL/XL system just like on the regular 3DS...

tl;dr: Is the compatibility the same? Eg can my current DSTWO work on the XL just like on the regular?

Mods move this to the hacking section if needed, because I thought that compatibility has something to do with the hardware.

If I can remember, my DSi XL made some R4 clones which worked on DSi useless.

So I don't know whether it's the same for 3DS.

The DSi XL shipped with later firmware than most DSi units shipped with, so that was likely the issue.

Dunno' what the 3DS XL has yet.

Perhaps that was the reason!

3DS LL ships with a older firmware.

I got my 3DS XL on Saturday and my Supercard 2 on the latest firmware is working fine, exactly as it did on my regular 3DS. Woo hoo!

My 3DS XL came with V3.0. So my AceCard worked, but because I wanted to do a transfer from my old 3DS, I had to update to the new firmware.

So as long as you won't want to upgrade the firmware, any XL currently for sale, should be OK as it comes with old firmware.
