Hardware 3ds Wifi Options

Ok so i have one of those nintendo wifi connectors and was wondering if there is an option like the dsi to connect to that.
it is the only thing my dad will allow as he views other wifi as insecure no matter what.

i could turn it into a softap if need be but i would prefer not to

any insight? can anyone conferm or deny it?

If you have a smartphone you might also want to see if it's able to set up a wifi hotspot. That's what I'm doing with regular DS games that don't support WPA.

my nintendo wifi connector works for me
i dont have a smart phone and if i had to make a new hotspot, i would convert my adapter to a general purpose soft ap
