Hacking 3DS Themes incoming

i thought bigbluebox's bigbluemenu is the latest devmenu that 'we' have?
and, i thought an old devmenu would still install dlc, just you would not see it listed, or, it would not shown properly since that came out before dlc...?

well yes it is the latest, that we public plebs have and if Im corrent, it is devmenu 5
but it won't install the theme as it is, dunno, maybe, if you modify the .cia in some way
devmenu 2, though, which is also included in the BBB release, installs it just fine

hmm bigbluemenu installed the theme for me fine... i use bigbluemenu and a fixed ersion to revert the look to 'devmenu' (thanks riku)

is there anything else changed in your version compared to the original bigbluemenu ? because the original won't install it for me, always gives me an error and I have seen other people getting the same error, but devmenu 2 worked just fine for me and them ...

i even used the bigbluemenu, untouched and that mario theme floating around installed fine

please test the link theme, that is the one I have been talking about
didn't test the mario theme
mario theme is an official scene release, so I guess it's normal, that it works with the official scene release BBMenu, but the link one is just a personal release I think

hm yeah, ok i will try it, i already have the zelda theme bought myself so i'll delete it. i'll let you know in a few hours

i'm quite sure you need 9.0 at least to use themes.

never thought of that I managed to update to 8.1 with SSB and thought I could use the same method to get up to 9.0

umm you realize you can update your emunand using online update ? except for the newest one since current gw3ds fw doesn't support it. Just wait for new gw fw and then update emunand online.

yeah i know I wanted to get on fw 9.0 or 9.2 for themes and whatnot and just missed the boat. I know ssb contains fw 8.1 and had a silly idea that a theme could update fw using the same method, I'm just being blond lol

It doesn't. It just means the version requirement for that scene release is 9.0, not that it /contains/ an update.
