So, this is just out of curiosity, more than anything. I turned on my 3DS, waited about 10 seconds so everything could load, and tried to start up Kid Icarus: Uprising, which was already in the slot before the console turned on. The screen turned black, as if to load the game, and froze. The homescreen music kept playing, but nothing else happened and no buttons would respond. I ended up having to long-press the power button to turn it off and reset. I had no issues afterward.

Anyone have this kinda experience before or know what might've caused it? I'm just curious.

yea it seems to be if a game is left in sometimes and the 3DS does things in sleep mode cna cause it to just freeze, the freeze also occurs sometimes when the 3DS is shut so when you open all you see is black screen

used to do it on Zelda OOT 3D
they fixed it with an update

now Kid Icarus seems to have the same bug

I never had that issue with OoT 3D, but i didn't get my 3DS till this January, so maybe it was already fixed by then. At any rate, this is the only time I've had this issue, except when using my SuperCard DSTwo

    @K3Nv3, I mostly want a performance boost

    Linux is just awesome for a free open source alternative
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @lapot2, yeah something that Windows is better than Linux is that you don't have to compile every single software you download

    @Xdqwerty, you'll have your own system someday I didn't even know what a performance boost was when I was your age
  • Kirbydogs @ Kirbydogs:
    I don't believe that is the case
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @K3Nv3, well I can tell my PC can be somewhat slow

    You just use the terminal to download things, I don't think you have to compile every download

    @K3Nv3,
    If you just need to surf the Internet, then maybe so. But if you need to do some serious work, there are often no open or closed tools for Linux at all.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
    Yeah Linux has its own store with most apps you need
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
    It's mostly github projects that require specific sh files for install
  • lapot2 @ lapot2:
    and on Windows these tools are already ready, you take them and use them

    Every os has its place
  • Kirbydogs @ Kirbydogs:
    yea either way Linux isn't for me lol
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
    Linux is also good for android devs and what not for obvious reasons
  • lapot2 @ lapot2:
    so for the near future Linux will remain a parody of a normal operating system with a bunch of compatibility issues and program availability

    I remember windows being near $150 whenever the smallest virus got installed and back then the average person didn't know about cracked files

    and also, no one writes open source software with good intentions.All this is done either for some task of the developer in the process of his work on his questions, or is used in other paid products that are capable of providing this development.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
    @lapot2, I feel like you over fear open source software it's not that spiteful
  • lapot2 @ lapot2:
    for this reason there will never be any serious open source software.money money money
  • lapot2 @ lapot2:
    without support from closed paid software - no open software would exist at all.And even GitHub requires material resources for its maintenance
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
    Without open source software we wouldn't have all these android devices we'd be forced to stick with apple
  • lapot2 @ lapot2:
    @K3Nv3,
    How can you be afraid of something that doesn't exist?:D
  • lapot2 @ lapot2:
    @K3Nv3,
    So you think Android is open source? Go ahead and get into your phone to change the firmware.Or better yet, try replacing the faulty flash memory or processor in it. :D
