so i just pre-ordered my 3ds and i played one.its awesome played some street fighter and ridge racer, both are really solid i couldn't tell if the 3d effect was good or not as the device was locked to the station, also they are set up that the mythical "sweet spot" is there and makes the 3d look fantastic, also as you may know with the 3d effect on games drop from 60fps to 30fps the drop in frame rate is not noticeable, unless you you quickly move the slider up and down, when you turn off the 3d the game will hitch for a split second and looks much brighter, its not like the 360 when you get an achievement the game freeze's for a second and the achievement notice pops up, you still be playing when that happens i got to see some movie trailers, its video in 3d can't say nothing about that if you've seem a movie in 3d before you've seen it all also the monitors on the demo stations died so they began to remove the demo stations i was finishing having my try at the systems apparently they left on the demo stations over night to see if it would last an entire work-day which it failed at your thoughts

As your profile says you are in the USA, and Nintendo still hasn't revealed where to demo the 3DS in the USA (http://www.nintendo.com/3ds/events), I have to ask: Where did you demo it? I've been dying to try one out.

I live in New Jersey (Less than an hour away), but I'm going to wait until someone else confirms this (No offense) before I go.

Just afar as I knew, there weren't any playable Nintendo 3DSs in the USA, and I would think the Nintendo World Store would get them before a Gamestop.

I just called one of the Gamestops in Manhattan, and he said there isn't even a Gamestop in Time Square.

He said no Gamestops have it yet, and he said he was pretty sure the Nintendo World Store didn't either. So I don't know what you are trying to pull...

Hmmm... Where did you play the demo of the 3DS? I heard that the US wouldn't get demo units.

Read my post above. Also, I doubt the US is going to get any previews on it. At most we will get kiosks in the Nintendo World Store.

It's coming out this month (It's going to be a loooong month) and it probably isn't worth it to set up all these demo units and worry about them getting stolen and junk.

LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

Have you ever been beaten by a wet spaghetti noodle by your girlfriend because she has a twin sister, and you got confused and fucked her dad?

I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol

They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol

@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
you've seen how much intel is struggling getting into the gpu market
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
and nvidia is already doing ARM
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think they want to take more focus away from their gpus

Yeah I think Nvidia s future lays in AI GPU acceleration stuff if they can get that going it's going to be super interesting in the long term

AI assisted game creation might become a thing

At least that's something I think would be pretty cool.

Many TBs of assets and the programming of something like that is going to be tough but I think it's something we might see in 20 years maybe sooner
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Psionic Roshambo AI assisted game creation is kinda already here, there was recently that AI that can turn any 2D image into a fully modeled 3D object, it's not perfect, but it's a starting point, beats starting from zero

before that there was one to generate a fully modeled scene from a 2D image

  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but most recently, there was one that actually generates a working unity scene with terrain and textures already set up that you can import right into unity, that's a huge time saver right there

and using LLMs to generate NPC dialogue and even dynamically generated quests is something i'm sure is already happening
