I have oot for n64, gamecube, and vc on my wii. I'm not sure if it's worth 40 dollars to buy a game I can already play.

How is the 3ds game? Is anything really added to it besides graphics? Is it worth it's cost?

I like it vey much the 3D is amzing and They added the masterquest too so I don't know if you want it but that's a big plus for me and i really like the aiming with the crosbow and slingshot by moving your 3ds,Nintendo added a boss battel mode so you can beat all the bosses.
    I'm really hapy with it!

It's only OoT with 3D graphics, remastered graphics and with help hints among other things AFAIK. I guess it's OK for you if you wanna play this game on-the-fly and if you don't have the Master Quest version. I'd recommend it if it had 3DS features such as StreetPass, SpotPass, etc.

I also read about something that replaces the rumble feature for OoT since the 3DS doesn't have rumble. You might wanna consider that as a factor.

I think it's really worth it, I also play the original and the Virtual Console version on my Wii and so far the 3DS version is the best; definitely worth the money

I am the same with you but I still brought it because it is now on the go and it is by far the best use of the 3DS's power (minus the StreetPass and SpotPass), I even have the Master Quest GC Disc. When I first heard about it I wanted to know what we can expect from the next LoZ on the 3DS and I really can't wait for it since if they can have to games on one cart than we have a lot to look forward to. The 3D really brings it out like when you see the castle for the first time. In the end of the day its more if you really enjoy the classic. Right now I'm at the Water Temple on a 3 Heart Run but I have also beat it multiple times throughout the years on the N64, 3 times on the GC (Collector's Edition Disc and OoT/Master Quest Disc), and once on the Wii. If you brought other games on the 3DS that weren't that good you really should buy a great game since our next great game isn't until StarFox 64 3D lol

I think, even just for the graphics it's worth it, it's like playing a new game!

Plus, you don't have the annoyance of having to move to another room to play it if someone wants to watch the TV, or worse yet, not being able to play it at all...no hassle, it's on your handheld..for your eyes and enjoyment only [IMG]

    You really should! Here's why:
    1. It's portable
    2. It has upgraded graphics
    3. There are fun little eastereggs (even small detailed ones like there's a book from A Link to the Past)
    4. Boss Battle mode is fun to play
    5. Master Quest is now mirrored and hard as hell!
    6. Water Temple is WAY less tedious.

If you're still not convinced, watch this video.

It's basically an enhanced port from everything I've heard. If you have a copy of Ocarina of Time with Master Quest then I don't really see a reason. You can always say "Better graphics!" but A) Who gives a shit, B) I've heard they look decent but far from great, and C) I thought Nintendo fanboys prided themselves on not being graphics whores. $40 is also a ridiculous price tag when you can get game compilations that have like 3 full games for $10 less.

I'd say buy the $10 Virtual Console one and you'll get the same experience. It just severely lacks replay value for me (I mean you can play it and Master Quest and maybe Boss Rush a few times but the overall game time is gonna be a lot less than other portable games I've played that cost less).

The biggest thing is not only the graphics, but the framerate, the game runs at about 20 FPS on n64/wii ports, it gains 10fps on the 3ds, the extra fluidity is great.

I think it is worth it mainly because the game runs at silky smooth 30 or 60fps in contrary to the N64 version. It just enhances an already amazing experience in a way, that no pure aesthetically remake could!

It also is more appealing to the eye because of more vibrant colours, which make the game look a little more organic, the overall enhanced graphics and textures and the amazing 3D-effect, which is stunning in some places (like the sparkles of Navi and other fairies in Kokiri Forest or the feathers of the chickens and such).

I also think people who couldn`t go hands on with this enhanced port (or remake, who knows what it is...) but already experienced the game in the past should just comment on the content of the game itself and shouldn`t really make comparisons based on assumption when there are plenty of people who do own the game and are willing to give their hands-on impression of it...

The VC one doesn't allow widescreen, that sucks [IMG]

And I think the original Master Quest isn't mirrowed. [IMG]

Usually I'm not the type who plays the same game over and over again, I play them once and for good. But this one IS an experience, especially if you still know the original one. It's fun to see the changes and compare them. [IMG]

Dunno about the bossbattle yet, but always loved bloody palace mode in DMC games. ^^

And then... 40 USD is cheap, I had to pay 42,50 EUR€ for it, that equals ALMOST 60 USD (59,77), so stop whining about the price pls! xD

If you already own other copies of the game, I would say the only reason to buy it is if you want a portable version.

Absolutely fricking YES! It's not just graphics that you need this game.. it's portability, control (bottom touch screen integration is phoneminal), added features.. the list goes on and on.. Seriously, the 3D effect is completely blowing me away.. when I switch the slider to no 3D the difference is so compelling I wonder why I bother to play other games without the effect..

Sure it's "$40" but if you are a smart shopper then you can get it for a LOT less. I bought this and DOA Dimensions at best buy and got a free $25 gift card.. I plan on selling DOA for 35-40 on ebay and turn around and use the $25 for RE Mercs later this month.. that's 80 - 25 = $55 for two games (assuming I get $40 for DOA).. do the math and look for deals!! Target also doing 50% off any game with the purchase of Zelda 3DS..

Ghehe lets say yes. If you liked the game before then you will still do. This time on 3DS I cleared it(not 100%) for the 10th time!! I enjoyed the game a lot. Master Quest is very funny with walls with cows lol.

Very funny secret/easter egg.(just hints not tell you how)

But its worth its money certainly if you play hardcore and you did clear it in a few hours(like I did)

Ah you're always gonna' have someone to tell you it's not worth it. The bottom line is, it's Ocarina of Time, which is a great game, and to top it all off, it's portable. I love portable gaming, and yeah, I find graphically it does look better, which is neat for certain stages (like the Ice Cave and etc.)

A small thing that gets me, is that the daytime to night-time is present in a lot more places that it isn't present in the N64 version, so it's pretty radical.

I think it's worth the 40$, to be honest.

The biggest and most important change for me is that it's portable.

It's so nice being able to change spots while playing... I hate playing games on a TV. Also, watching Futurama and playing Ocarina of Time 3D is amazing. Haha.

There are enough changes in the game for it to be worth picking up, in my opinion. Also, tabbing out to the web browser is sweet.

I'm pretty sure people didn't buy a 3DS just for OoT 3D. In fact, the main reason I got the 3DS was because of Kid Icarus, 3DS OoT, I knew they'd be making a new Mario Kart, and then when I saw the list of games coming out in the future, I decided to get one early while I had the money to spend.

All in all, you're gonna' meet a LOT of people on here telling you it's not worth it, just play it on the N64 or on the VC, and who cares about graphics, it's the gameplay. As much as I agree with that, I mostly paid for PORTABLE OoT, as I love playing games on the bus, on the way to work, etc, and playing OoT on the way to work is just fun as fuck, haha. At the same time, I wont lie, it does look nicer and smoother / crisper and I find it's just refreshing to play a portable classic and have it look nice. And yeah, I'm a gimmick slut, so I think the 3D is ballin', haha.
