I patched a .cia of Pokemon Omega Ruby with the Rising Ruby ROM hack, but it would always crash at a certain point with an error message. It crashes right before the player character enters Littleroot town as the truck door is opening. The error message reads as follows:

An Exception Occured

Processor: Arm11 (core 0)
Exception Type: Data Abort
Fault Status: Translation - Section
Current Process: sango-1 (000400000011C400)

Is there a way to fix/get around this? Is there any more information I should share to make the process easier? Sorry if I'm breaking GBATemp etiquette or rules, I'm a first time poster.

Make sure you'v deleted the add-on content for the game you're trying to patch my guy! Had the same problem with sinking sapphire awhile back and that seemed to work

The add-on content is just the official update files, so boot up your 3ds/2ds

3DS system settings --> Data Management --> Nintendo 3DS --> Add-on Content

Then just delete the relevant game's data. You can re-download it at any point.

Thank you so much! I appreciate the help!

I know this is years later, but I figured I’d give it a shot, I’m playing rising Ruby on my 3ds and it keeps crashing at random points and when I delete the extra data it works for a little bit, but then crashes again. When I go back into my settings the extra data is back. How do I permanently get rid of it?
