hi there,

i'm struggling with getting my (old) 3DS sounds fixed.

all of a suddent it's lost sounds in all of the games (including original titles) via speakers or headphones
however:
- headphone detection works
- volume slider works
- sounds in camera, keyboard screen, error notifications, game updates - all WORK (!!!)

It's running luma 13.2.1

i've already tried ctr transfer, hardware test, dspfirm.cdc

i'm really puzzled, would appreciate some help with this

used tinyformat
downgraded firmware to 10.7.9
changed sdcard (started with scratch with x_finalize_helper.firm)

so to sum up
NO SOUND in:
  • Official/legit games
  • Homebrew games
  • GBA mode (via open_agb_firm)
  • Retroarch / twilight

Software update progress - OK
Keyboard input - OK
Accepting EUA etc - OK
Camera shutter - OK
In Twilight+/NDS - no audio but hitting HOME produces sound
(All including volumeslider control !!!)

if this is a hardware issue then how the heck is the sound routed differently for the cases above that work?

I notice that the Luma release notes include a blurb about how features like the camera shutter are controlled independently of other system sounds.

Are you using the latest version of Luma? Have you applied some kind of volume override?
luma version v13.3.2, I haven't tried to change any additional settings.
