3DS mod Help

Hi....I just got a 3DS by pure chance and now I am trying to mod it....

And I hav been finding a way to do so for past few days....

My current version is 2.1.0-4E and as far as I read it seems I need to update to higher version with game cardridge..... unfortunately I can't find anywhere to buy the cardriges and even when I found they are of different regions.....

My 3DS has a browser and I read that I could do some thing with my current version....but I can't find anything to work at.....

Is there a way to update my system without Game cardridge or Can I do something with my current version


Please I am in a very deep pickle and desperate......I would appreciate any help....any directions

What exactly gave you that idea? If you have been trying to follow Youtube videos, then the first thing you need to know is to never follow Youtube videos. All you really need is https://3ds.hacks.guide/ – and as noted in the post above, that will tell you how to use Soundhax.

Also, the word is "cartridge".

Ahhh I see....that is why I could never type it right.....Thanks for the helps man...really appreciate it....I just learned that I could just update to the latest version and follow the guide

That is an option, but Soundhax is much simpler on systems where it can be used and you should at least try that before updating, especially since Seedminer still has a small chance of failing.

Oh I see.....I am going to try that soundhax first ....I can do the rest afterward yes??? I am really sorry if my questions are stupid...this is my first time owning a console....

No. Do not start the cfw installation process until you manage to get some free time to complete it. Until you reach the Finalizing Setup page atleast..
Follow the guide and do not skip any steps, including testing the sd card with h2testw for errors. Do not proceed with a faulty sd card!

Where do I even start....Should I start by updating my machine or actually....Can u enlighten me with process...I mean just order of working through the entire thing....

If you update your system now, you are left with only one option and that is Seedminer.
Folks recommended Soundhax because it's simpler in comparison..

Don't worry about Seedminer. Just follow the Soundhax method.

There should be no risk if you do everything correctly as it says in the guide.

Damn, 2.1.0?? That's old!
You don't need a cart to update, just go to system settings and go to other settings > and then update the system (page 5)
