Hacking 3DS Homebrew Freeze

Hello, today I installed Homebrew on my brothers 3DS XL. But, when I loaded the Steel Diver: Sub Wars game, the homebrew launcher directed me to the Download Play app. But when I pressed the Home button, it freezed. Any help is accepted. P.S. I tried everything, the power button, the home button, but they seem to not work. P.P.S. I need help fast, cuz' my dad would kill me.

Have you been following a specific guide? Anything but those two:

is not recommended. Especially video guides are often outdated and/or of bad quality and/or missing important parts.
Holding (Power) for several seconds should turn the 3DS off. But you need to provide more information what exactly you were doing.

P.P.S. I need help fast, cuz' my dad would kill me.

I hope you're not serious about that or don't mean that literally. A not working gaming device is certainly no reason to kill someone.
