Gaming 3DS Game Saves, Where?

After finishing Rayman 3D, i found no other use for it, its beaten, I still love my n64 version XD, and I wanted to trade it in before its value dies down. I was thinking of copying my save data to my sd, so I can assure i have a save file of that game to commemorate my feat lol. I went into system settings, and yet I gaze upon the message saying i have to wait for the SYSTEM UPDATE to do such things (Jerks at Nintendo). So i was like, "maybe its saved in there but i cant access it right now?"

I did hear that the game saved on the actual cart, but i wanted to double confirm

It saves on the cart

The system settings data management that will come with the may update only applies to dsiware and 3dsware.

Games save on the cart, and Extra Data is stored on the SD cart I think.
