I'm sure this has been asked previously, but with the 21 free games coming up (inc 4 Swords) will there be a way of putting things in folders or adding more slots? I will only have 10 left after the ambassador games, and with Mario Land 2, Metroid 2 a few more 3D classics and the supposed GameGear VC games I will have run out of space before christmas!
I tried E-mailing Nintendo asking this but it keeps giving me errors and not allowing me to contact them. I have a horrible feeling that we will be expected to delete and re-download things rather than add more- I know I can get rid of a few things to make more room but when it is full of things I have paid (or will play regularly) I may not want to!

There should be enough because when I slide the screen, there is definately more than 20 slots. You could also try counting

I bet if people start filling up they'll expand it or make it dynamic so it'll indefinitely expand as you add more downloads.

I have counted, there are 60 including the unremovable ones. Hence me having 11 left after the 21 downloadable games

how much stuff have you already downloaded?
Anyways, I'm sure if you have several SD cards this shouldn't be a problem for 3DS downloads if I'm following you right, DSiware will be the problem...

It's the DSiWare I was thinking of! I have already considered the multiple SD card options, but that would negate the point of putting any SD card larger than 2gb in it. Already have 5 vc's, 7 DSiWare, 2 3D classics, plus the pokedex which I can get rid of, and Nintendo video. Have pre-emptively removed all the 3D videos!

Isn't it set up to where after you login/register (whatever) with that 3DS at their appstore, you can always re-download any game/app you purchased previously at any time? You could just delete any file you want to make room for something new and then get the old file again any time if you want, can't you?

I would imagine you should be able to offload excess files to an SD card just like a DSi, but I'm not sure. If you have an SD card for the 3DS already, see if you can slide files to and from the SD and you'll have your answer.

I'm just guessing here, I don't actually have a 3DS.

Well, you can delete them, but moving them to an SD card isn't an option as the 3DS games are read off the SD card. DSiWare can be put in the internal memory, however.

When your out youll get the double amount of slots. I can make shots if you want prove but do not worry it goes automatically. AND Nintendo NL did not know this yet.

^^ no problem. I had the same problem. I called Nintendo they said I don't know ehm they may come with a solution pretty soon.

Well after I got a certain amount the total doubled.

This is what happens when you don't read the manual. The 3ds is capable of currently having 300 slots at max. 16gb card prices will be dropping to 8gb prices between this November & March 2012. Wait for the card price drop and get your self one. That gives you the current max slots and enough space for music. Than if rising the max later becomes available your prepared for it. Take note until you use up a certain number of slots, a lot of slots are hidden to reduce loading time.
