That’s fine!

Btw, with the flashcart method, do I have to use that flash cart every time I want to use any homebrew apps?

No, it's just a method of getting Luma onto the system. Once that's on you don't need the cart or magnet again.

As mentioned check what version firmware is on it. The guide linked too has different recommendations based on the firmware version. I was lucky since I had an older 3DS XL I hadn't been using I could hack it with soundhax. Then I used that 3DS to help me hack my new 3DS with seedminer.

Or does everything as far as apps just get installed to the systems SD card?
no, you will only use it to install the cfw, after that you can use it as a normal ds flashcart depending on the model.

Ohh ok well guess I’m stuck with the flash cart then

Well to be fair there is a thread floating around the forums where you can get another user to help out with a few steps of the seedminer process, so technically you don't need to own an already hacked 3DS.

That thread looks like a bit much lol I might just go with the flash cart. It seems overall simpler.

Then again I might try it first. Actually doesn’t seem too complicated as long as someone helps.

It's dependent on what your 3ds system version is. Have a good read of the 3ds hacks guide, follow the guide and you won't have a problem, make sure you back up the nand for peace of mind!

ok only upside to the flashcart is it can help recover from bricks which if you are mainly just going to be injecting games you should have no worry about it
Is it best to start this with a fresh SD card? I have smash Bros DLC in my current card though so I don’t wanna lose that if I don’t have to.

You won't lose any data through this process so it's absolutely okay to proceed with it as-is.
Ok excellent! :)

Also, a few more ambiguous questions:

1. If I install VC injects, where do their save files go, and can I delete VC injects?

2. Is it still ok to use my supercard to play regular DS games or do I have to use a newer CFW method?

1. You can delete them the same as you would any virtual console game from in the settings menu, the same for the saves.
2. If the supercard works fine on the 3DS without CFW it'll continue to work the same with it.

Great!

I just hope I don’t brick anything. Can’t that happen with bad cia files like if one of my GBA injects didn’t upload correctly?

You could always get the GBA rom and do the injection yourself, that way you know for sure there is nothing malicious in it.

However I honestly don't really know to what degree a faulty cia could brick the console. I imagine one that was designed too could probably do it, but I don't think one just screwing up a game install would be able too. However it is probably best to wait on some confirmation from someone with more experience with this than me. I only started looking into all this very recently myself.

doesnt matter you wont lose anything and you can update SD cards at any time just by copying files to the new one
