im HIGHLY concerned with the placement of that dpad, but that really cant be helped. it just reminds me of how the analog nub on the original PSP was hard on my thumb to use for longer than 10 minutes at a time. other than that, looks freaking sweet. I dont understand why everyones digging that orange, honestly. I prefer any of my electronics to say IM A NERD BUT NOT THE ECCENTRIC TYPE MORE LIKE THE SMART BUSINESS TYPE

I wish they used one colour. I don't like the two tone look.

I love the two tone look, especially on the red 3DS

Also the thing i won't like is after awhile, the slide-pad will suffer from major wear-and-tear and it will become all silver..

You know, it doesn't look that bad. However, I think I missed the specs on the size. I hope they went the route of the DSi's size instead of the DSi XL's size, or at least release two different form factors. The XL was just too big for my tastes. And it looks like they went back to the glossy finish, meaning it'll collect dust from all over the known universe and will actually suck your fingerprints off from across the room. +1 to whoever gets that reference.

EDIT: Hey, take a look... looks like you can turn wifi on and off with the flick of a switch. Look at the last pic of the blue 3DS to see what I mean.

I must be the only person who doesn't like the design of this thing. Look at all of these edges, none of the sides meet flush together, there are bits sticking out all over the place.
I for one, really hope that any redesigns that are made before launch make this think look smoother and possibly thinner. The top half looks quite thick when compared to the DSi, and the bottom look about twice as thick as the DSi, it doesn't help that you can clearly see the two parts also.

I can agree with you there. It's not very... protective, and definitely not pocket-friendly.

I know that, and I assume it will change quite a bit before launch, however it seems that everyone here loves this current design. I can't stand it.

Gore just pointed me something out on chat- the box is now reversed. The system logo is no longer on the spine but the opening side of the case. This is the first Nintendo handheld box to not have the logo on the left hand side. Thanks for the tip Gore, i missed that!

I like the inductive charger. Also, I really hope they do a simple black version. The design should probably change before they launch it, so I'm not too worried. However, I wonder how the mod/rom/hacking scene is going to take this?

What bugs me on the current design is the fact that the lower part is 2 times thicker than the upper part.

Approximately 5.3 inches wide, 2.9 inches long, 0.8 inches tall.

I swear no one looks at the specs or this site at all. Of course, it does say approximately and the design isn't final.(and it oddly has approximately the exact same dimensions as a DSi)

I don't really like the design of the box though, obviously it's made to not confuse people with the DS, DSi and 3DS boxes, but it looks really awkward...

I really hope they release more than one colour, unlike the wii and ds's releases. They showed loads of colours for both, yet only one was available at launch.
