Hello,
Im not sure what happened but my 3ds won't boot to the home menu. Upon turning it on, the led for power turns blue followed shortly by a loud pop and the 3ds shutting down. Does anyone know what is going on? Its a 3ds xl and it happens with or without the sd card.

its a hardware issue best bet is either replacing the top screen manually or sending it in for repairs

Replace the audio flex cable. Popping is consistent with that going bad.

Also, you should stop turning on your 3DS. People have killed their systems by continually attempting to turn theirs on, despite the audio warning. You're shocking the more delicate components within the motherboard each time you turn it on.

Lastly, take out your battery too to prevent possible damage from electric leakage in that cable.
