Hardware 2DS suddenly not turning ON anymore

The GameBoy was designed to be sold at a low price. Mine had hard times and is still usable after 18 years (only the mic is dead).

not comparable with the gameboy nintendo did not release a 1/2 price version

Ok, the same just happened to me with a friend's 2DS.
At first, I thought it was the charger because it was broken on the socket pins side.
Repaired it but console still wouldn't boot. (Charger now Works with my 2DS)

Tried with a battery from one of mine. Still no boot.
Tried his battery on my 2DS, battery is OK.

Opened the 2DS and saw the sleep switch broken inside.
Been Reading this: https://gbatemp.net/threads/2ds-wont-turn-on.448444/#post-6828610 and I believe it's the same problem.

Will post an update after fixing it.

Ok, just to confirm, it was the sleep switch.
After shortening the 2 pins as the thread I posted, console came back to life,

@AyanamiRei That switch is really s****y and can be easely damaged out of nowhere.
If you feel confortable opening the 2DS, it can be fixed without much trouble.
Be extremely careful with the screws and the ribbons.

Hi, have the same problem. Was playing my nintendo picross twilight princess and fell asleep with the game on. Woke up with it dead. I charged it and it wouldn't turn on. The charging still works though. red light blue light, charging light; No volume and no screen.

the 2ds was modded and so I think it could have been bricked. idk though I'm not good on that stuff.
