would games like the original rayman, and ps1 megaman games work for ds? If you don't know these, they are 2d sidescrollers.

No. Never. No. Really? You might think so. But its no. Dont believe me? Live with it. It is no.

yes it works. actually, i'm playing it right now on my fake r4 with firmware 1.19!!!
remember - you need to download the ISO file, and change the extension to an nds. The buttons, fuck that. just do whatever you want on the settings.
oh remember - this only works in your dreams

it doesn't matter if it is a 2d sidescroller. If it is a ps1 game, it is a ps1 game.

At 1 fps, perhaps. At any playable speed, of course not.

*sigh*
at 1 fps? probably no. it's impossible. If you have the strength to raise the dead, then let's say 1 fps

a simple search would have probably provided an answer

Through emulation, no. Never.
However, if they were to be remade it would be possible. See Resident Evil Deadly Silence. PS1 game on DS. But it would take an obscene amount of work, so the only time it ever happens is with actual companies developing them, rather than homebrewers.

Examples of remakes for DS are:
Resident Evil Deadly Silence
Super Mario 64 DS
Rayman DS (Rayman 2, N64 port, wasn't well received do to flawed control and graphics)
Chrono Trigger
FFIV
FFIII
Myst
etc etc. but no, I doubt we will ever see those particular games.

yeah well properbly see more remakes, but emulation is not just like playing ports. emulation is where the Hardware thats gonna emulate is going to act like its the other hardware, so if the DS should emulate PS1 it should act like a PS1 and to do that, it's gotta be at least double as good as the hardware/software its gonna emulate

Did you read what I said at all? Of course ports and remakes are different than emulation. I know what emulation is. Read my post again. Twice. And then don't post again. Just leave. Forever. If I didn't not want to get more warn level, I would probably call you some names. LEARN TO READ, TY TY. And no, you are wrong. You can't put a number on how much power something needs to be emulated, it depends on a number of factors.

And don't "

Relax, you can tell he didn't even research his post when he said that the DS isn't twice as powerful as the PSX. People don't know what they're talking about, that's why they go on the internet and "

" people in forums.

I agree. Praetor192's post is correct and informative.

You shouldn't go around "

" people when you don't know any better, linkenski.

you people make me sad

They just didn't sugarcoat their answers to your question. You asked, and you recieved. Most people know that to emulate a system on another system, THAT system has to be at least twice as powerful as the system your trying to emulate.
