That is something you'll have to test out yourself.

Maybe some games will used that slider for something else.DeadLocked said:Not a bad idea if you can't see in 3D/out of both eyes or the 3D gives you migraines easily. You don't want to have to pay for useless features (to you) especially if the feature is what bumps up the price a lot.

But what about those that cannot see 3D and won't buy the 3DS because of that? They are only a minority, but I'm sure it doesn't cost a lot of money to not put in the 3D components, print a different box and market it differently.

Would you buy a 2D only model?

Donald Serrot said:Nintendo has always stated the 3D will never be required. If you don't like it it's as simple as turning the effect off. There you go, 2D version of a 3DS. It's as simple as that.

They have said it multiple times at multiple conferences since the thing was announced at E3. Repeated time and again, the most recent one I saw was the GDC. Nintendo is going to push the 3D to it highest potential, but they aren't going to make it where someone that can't see the 3D can't play the game. Their stance is they want it to complement, not drive the games. In Kid Icarus Uprising it'll make it so seeing all the crap shooting at the screen is easier to judge, but without the 3D you'll still be able to play that part of the game, it'll just be a little trickier without the depth perception.TwinRetro said:Donald Serrot said:Nintendo has always stated the 3D will never be required. Where was this said? I don't remember Nintendo saying any such thing. It's not like Nintendo to stifle innovative gameplay mechanics, and this is exactly what they would be doing if they made this the "Platform Standard"

TwinRetro said:There is a huge difference from them not wanting 3D required for a game, and saying it will never be required. Those articles are full of a lot of Shoulds and Wants. Not anything solid imo.
