ROM Hack 11.4 cfw help

Hello,
Now I know some of you are going to crucify me and go why didn't you read the guide properly. I assumed I did and I do apologize for any mis-steps that I have done
I used https://3ds.guide 9.0.0 11.3.0 Homebrew Launcher (Soundhax)
I have a japanese new 3ds
Im having issues with Section III - Launching FBI
it tells me to open download and play and press L+D+Select. nothing is happening for me. I assume I messed up somewhere

my 3ds can play out of region games fine. when booting I can plus select and get Luma configuration settings. Start gets me to the god mode stuff.

So I assume I'm not completely Effed over. Is there a way I am still able to get FBI onto my device? Since I will need it to install other items.

Dang, It's been awhile last time i installed FBI, I injected through H&S, point aside, just to make sure, your using luma 3DS 8.0 right?

In the luma configuration menu, what version is it?

Well I think you found my problem. I feel like a noob. I have 7.1 is there anyway to fix it?

Go to https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/releases. Download 8.0, and put the boot.firm on the root of your sd card.
