4.5X includes 4.55 in my world.
Yes, I know currently the exploit is only usable on 4.50. But nowhere has been confirmed that 4.55 patched the vulnerability.
I guess it "just" has to be modified to work on 4.55.

The 1st PS4 I bought broke. I took it to a friend technician and basically the Disc Drive died, he had to disconnect it in order to for the PS4 to switch on, for a while I used it to play Digital titles until I bought a PS4pro.

I almost sold it for parts but then thought, nah, let me keep it just in case an exploit comes out.

I haven't switched it on in forever so Im sure im running on low FW.

Any prediction/insight on to whether I should keep my hopes high, feel good about myself for not selling it and will be able to use the exploit (if ever it will be released) without Disc Drive (Disc reader, not HDD, ofc)

If I were you I would keep hold of it, and feel smart about myself.

Turn it on and check which firmware it is on. Just don't update.

I bought the PSPro on launch day, prior to that the broken PS4 had been off for months so I'd say im on late 3.X or early 4.X

I was just wondering if without Disc reader I will be able to exploit it, I guess the answer is yes as everything will be done via USB, FTP (?)

Fingers crossed, with the exploit itself being delivered via the browser.

Ultimately the console can't be repaired as parts well the mainboard can't be used since it's paired to the optical drive.
