Yea I got that error while updating Super Mario Maker. Yes I self hosted. Left the console on for like 30 minutes and turned it off and on, and it was installed. Couldn't seem to get any other game to work though, unfortunately.
I don't know. There is for me. It was removed in 5.5.0 according to this http://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1436/~/system-menu-update-history
and my system is showing 5.5.1 after spoofing and I still have the TVii icon.
So I don't know if this is common knowledge or if it will help anyone, but I was able to update my Mario Kart 8 that came pre-installed on my hard drive. The only issue is it might have deleted my save. Here's what I did:
1. Backed up mario kart and saves to USB
2. Deleted mario kart 8...
