Hacking Hard drive that I was playing backups from got mysteriously....borked?

Actually, now that you mention it, Windows says the drive is mostly full as if the stuff is still there. If it is, how would I go about recovering it? I'm running Chkdsk /r on the drive right now, and it seems to be painstakingly working on -something-. So I'll just wait and see. EDIT...

Hacking Hard drive that I was playing backups from got mysteriously....borked?

WiiXplorer springs to mind...I just don't remember exactly what I would have copied, or why i would have needed to. Hmph. Oh well. Maybe I'm just saying that because WiiXplorer was the first thing I used to look at the drive after Snes9GX revealed the problem

Hacking Hard drive that I was playing backups from got mysteriously....borked?

The last thing I did was play Mario Kart Wii online from Configurable USB Loader. The newest revision. All I did thereafter was play Strong Bad's game for attractive people, and when my love wants to play Search for Eden, Snes9GX shows all of these messed up files in my drive, and all of my...

    Who the hell are you?

My name is Thomas Hawk and I've a fascination for a rabbits, hares, jackalopes, and general lagomorphia and woodland creatures. I'm 18 and - as of March when we moved here from Florida - living independently from my parents, with my navy-retiree fiance, in Oklahoma. My last occupation was bus...

Hacking GC backups, with no controller or memory card?

Installed Partition Magic, it tried to fix a bunch of errors on a different drive, then crashed. So I installed MiniAide Fat32 Formatter and formatted the external to fat32. Reached 100 percent and refreshed with the new drive info then I BSOD'd (inpage error, ntfs.sys), then rebooted to find a...

Hacking GC backups, with no controller or memory card?

Thanks, I used this command: format j: /fs:fat32 /a:32K and after 3 hours and getting to 100%, it said "the specified cluster size is too small for fat32." Found this but it doesn't seem to shed much light on the subject, I'm on Windows 7. Before I formatted like that, I removed the second...

Hacking GC backups, with no controller or memory card?

First partition, got it. So I set it up with Fat32 (32k cluster?), then Dios Mios will read game files from a folder, and I'm still free to use that same partition with the new CFG USB, right? Do I need to worry about this NEEK stuff?

Hacking GC backups, with no controller or memory card?

Oh...Idk. There aren't many GC games I'd take too must interest in anyway. Should I go ahead and invest in a Gecko-something? A shame that it seems so difficult to run GC backups. I know I'm not the first leech to ask about this but...If USB Loaders for Wii games run the game with the Wii...

Hacking GC backups, with no controller or memory card?

Okay okay. No big deal, I can probably manage to squeeze a new controller into the finances this month. So supposing I buy a new Gamecube controller, I would be looking at Dios Mios, right? Could someone point me in the right direction(s) here, assuming I still won't have a memory card?

Hacking GC backups, with no controller or memory card?

I've been enjoying my softmodded wii since forever. Got it back when Comcast was giving them away along with service and Twilight Princess was the most relevant modding method. I've never entirely figured out how to play GC backups from USB and I haven't really wanted to until now. I'm pretty...

    Hacking USB too small

Whoo! Thank you, that's a big help. I don't know how that didn't show up in all of the searching I did.

    Hacking USB too small

I spent days waiting for Wii Sports to rip from a legally purchased copy, and I just figured out that my only USB stick is slightly too small for the ISO. My USB stick is 3.84 GB, FAT32. Wii Sports.iso is 4.37 GB. I've read somewhere that the file size of the actual game data can be very...
