Not that this helps much but i had a similar problem last year getting the 'failed to load ios' error when running cboot2.
The working nand backup i had did not restore it, and a guy on here made me a nand backup using my keys which didnt restore it either.
In the end i had to bite the...
geeky i know... but i cant stop thinking about this game now!
I feel there has been a void in my gaming world for a while....even games that should satisfy me like Fallout 3 and the new wii silent hill dont get me excited...
I hope it does not disappoint!
Hi.
I have preloader set to block both disc and online updates but on connecting to the internet in wii settings i was still prompted to perform a system update (obviously i said no) but if i had of said yes would it have got any further?
I did look in wiibrew but it seems to skip over this...
i dont have any problem with my wii - i fixed the issue i was having after following the softmod guide that was similar to yours.
I dont need to start a thread as i solved my problem.
Last year i bricked a Wii (no audio or visual) and the nand backup I had would not restore it using bootmii even though it was install as a boot2.
As i last effort i sent it back to ninty and was surprised to see that they repaired it free of charge and returned it to me within 2 weeks. The...
I could not get backups to run through neogamma when using the rev14 cios from xzeros pack. I was getting the 'Unauthorized device detected' error.

Do you have the cios you...
This is a very useful thread. I recently experienced problems with the 'unauthorised device detect error' due to cios versions. Is that the kind of thing you want adding to the spready?
Cheers
Hi BDW.
Are you still on sysmenu 4.2?
I am having the same problem i think - getting 001 error when trying to play backups but fine through a usb loader.
THanks
I'm confused. How come when bootmii is an IOS you need to do the gamecube controller thing?
I thought you could just do it using the buttons on the wii console to navigate and then restore in bootmii.
@Tj_Cool - i dont mind it being simple or complicated. I have read the guides on what the modding does so i (think) i understand it. But having less steps makes it easier to do.
I do appreciate the work you guys do though.
Nice work on the updated guide - really handy to have the IOS for USB loaders and its even simpler than before!
Is it still ok to update your Wii to 4.2 via the official Nintendo Update if its a virgin Wii you are modding?
