Can data from a modded switch be migrated to a new Switch? (I remember with my DS when I got a new one it had an option to transfer everything from the old one to the new one--does the Switch do that? and if so, can it be done from a modded Switch to a new one?)
I got a steam deck and a little doohicky so I can put my Switch in recovery mode and mod it. With the goal being to rip my Switch stuff and move it to the steam deck. But before I go through all of that I wanted to ask a quick question.. is the data on the Switch's sd card already in a format I...
I just got a steam deck and want to mod my launch switch to move my games from it to the SD. Will I be able to rip both the physical games I've got and the digital games I've bought off the store?
I just got a switch today. During setup I wasn't able to connect it to WiFi. I've previously blocked updates via my router when I softmodded my wii u. Are these two things related? Does the switch use the same endpoints that the wii u does? Do I need to undo those to connect my switch to...
Thanks guys. I'll check my version when I get home. This was only 3 or 4 months ago so it shouldn't be too far out of date. I just can't remember all of the details because I've done a lot since then ;).
I haven't touched my Wii U in a long while. At this point I don't remember what is/isn't done to it.. I know I've got Haxchi on it. And have been able to get games on it via Wii U Usb helper. I vaguely remember that there were certain things that needed to happen to support being able to...
Oh I see. I didn't realize 'a' and 'b' were what happened when holding down a button. I guess it's kind of redundant to have both 'b' and 'default' have the same action. So just to verify, when I set "default" to "sysmenu" it's taking me to a patched version of the "system menu" that will...
That was my question. The compatibility doc says that it doesn't work so I wanted to verify.
I'm not yet using anything, I'm trying to go through all the different options so I can be informed before I start bricking my system ;).
By default, my config.txt looks like this right now.
a=fw.img
b=sysmenu
default=wiiu/apps/homebrew_launcher/homebrew_launcher.elf
Is the above direction saying to change it to the following?
a=fw.img
b=sysmenu
default=sysmenu
If that is what I do, is there still a way to launch the homebrew...
I'm looking at the compatibility list and I'd like a slight bit of confirmation. Say I've got Pokemon Rumble U on my system before installing loadiine. Once I update to Loadiine, it looks like I won't be able to play that, correct?
Trying again yielded the same results. I found other information saying I could use larger cards. I had a 64gb sdxc card laying around and was able to get it formated properly. That gave me what I needed and, as they say, the third time's the charm.
I'm on Windows 10.
If you're going to get in trouble on my behalf because of a mistake I made then feel free to stop responding. I'm just trying to get this sorted out and find a definitive answer. Obviously I didn't intend for this to become such a hassle for anyone.
I can understand that, but saying "I'm not going to help you" doesn't help anyone. It just gives the impression of elitism and doesn't create a friendly environment. The default formater doesn't give me the option of FAT32 for this sdxc card, hence me not knowing what's going on.
Which of...
I posted it in the wrong forum at first and then posted again. I went to delete the other and did not see a way to delete the thread. Instead of being all self righteous and high and mighty, let's just assume I made a mistake and help out the guy just looking for help.
So then how did you do...
That's specifically why I'm asking. I've seen "32" and "64" stated, but the utility I've seen suggested in multiple places (GuiFormat) doesn't appear to go lower than 512. Specifically, I've got a 64gb micro sdxc card I'm trying to make use of.
I'm not seeing anything definitive on how to format my sd card other than fat32. Specifically what allocation should I use? Does it make any difference?

No, I have the deluxe black edition. The post I read said a 32gb sd card was big enough to dump the nand. I was under the impression that you couldn't use SD cards bigger than 32gb with the Wii U.
I just dumped everything. When I Tried copying the last part of my MLC to my PC, I'm told it's corrupt and it won't copy. Is it actually corrupt or does windows just having some other kind of problem? Either way, I'll try again so I can hopefully have a successful dump. If I brick my Wii U...
