Do I need to manually inject the new loader CXI into the firmware.bin file? Or just download the new release and replace the arm9loaderhax.bin file?

Homebrew [RELEASE] BootAnim9 - Custom boot animations for your 3DS!

Would there be any way you could compile and upload this? I like this boot animation A LOT, also what FPS to run it at?

    Hacking Luma3DS - Noob-proof 3DS Custom Firmware

Well it would be optional id assume. Just make it have to look for an "anim" folder with the proper files inside of the "AuRei" folder and it loads the boot animation, if it doesn't find the folder/files it would just load like normal.

@Aurora Wright Any plans on implementing BootAnim9 into one of your next updates? I only ask because your CFW already has a built in bootlader, so if it also had the ability for animated bootscreens, it would be an All-in-One CFW :3 Also, do you know if its possible to use your CFWs ability to...

    Hacking Luma3DS - Noob-proof 3DS Custom Firmware

All I do is is make a text file name Payload Keys and write all of my button combos in there. I mean, I can easily remember them all, but it's always nice to have a "key" to look at.

    Hacking SafeA9LHInstaller Payloads!

k Oh yeah because AuReiNAND initializes the screen on its own for payloads and splash, I forgot.

    Hacking SafeA9LHInstaller Payloads!

Well yeah... this version doesn't have screen-init. It says it right there. So your splash screen won't show without screen-init

    Homebrew SafeA9LHInstaller

Oooooh ok, thats a fair enough reason. I have skinny and lanky hands so all the button presses arent even a problem for me. Plus the only other payload I really need is Decrypt9 and thats only for safety. So its just set to L+R

Homebrew ARM9Loader -- Technical Details and Discussion

I can boot Decrypt9 with L+R using Auroras A9LH nonscreeninit fork and AuReiNAND... I am unsure where your issue could be coming from... Edit: Re-readimg I think I found your problem.FIX94s fork sets the brightness to 0 but still activatesscreen_init. Just compile Aurora Wrights a9lh without...

    Homebrew SafeA9LHInstaller

AuReiNAND activates the screen for whatever payload you need when you use the L+R chainloading feature. I have Auroras nonscreeninit fork installed and can launch decrypt9 by just holding L+R then boot.

    Homebrew SafeA9LHInstaller

Do you mean FIRM1 or FIRM0? I dont recall a FIRM2... Also, could you possibly link me to the post that explains how to use the HOME button implementation?
  13. D

    Homebrew SafeA9LHInstaller

What would I name the payload to load while holding HOME? and where would I place it?

    Hacking Luma3DS - Noob-proof 3DS Custom Firmware

I just did this too and I also still have screen_init. I think it is because dark_samus3 is working on a recovery that goes off using the screen_init function. So that is probably why it is still there. @dark_samus3 @Aurora Wright can either of you confirm?
  15. D

    Homebrew SafeA9LHInstaller

Just thought I'd let you know that the full install of the dark_samus3/Aurora merged fork worked. Auto shutdown with no SD inserted, but I still have screen init, the brightness of the screen_init is a bit lower though I think, so I am pretty sure the full install went off perfectly.
  16. D

    Hacking Luma3DS - Noob-proof 3DS Custom Firmware

you are using the dark_samus3/Aurora fork?
  17. D

    Homebrew SafeA9LHInstaller

It does NOT specify that in the OP... i says payload_stage2.bin (originally "yadayada.bin") auto Also, I edited the original post and flipped it

    Hacking Luma3DS - Noob-proof 3DS Custom Firmware

So to do a full install do i need to have the files named firm1.bin (renamed from new3ds10.firm) firm0.bin (renamed from new3ds90.firm) secret_sector.bin payload_stage1.bin payload_stage2.bin (bot payload.bins compiled from the dark_samus/Aurora fork) All inside of a folder named "a9lh" then...

    Homebrew SafeA9LHInstaller

I am planning on doing a full install with aurora/dark_samus3 fork
  20. D

    Homebrew SafeA9LHInstaller

But wouldnt using the fork designed for this be better than just updating to not have screen_init?

I want a handheld gaming system with a tablet sized screen, like a 8 or10" screen, with controllers that can detach like the Switch.

I don't see the buzz about a square screen personally. I think there will be a review on the site within a few weeks though if you are interested.

I've put down the money on the Odin 2 Mini since I just love that Vita form factor. Loved the power of the Odin 2 but the size always put me off, this one seems exactly what I've been wanting.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I don't care about the square screen it's just nice to hold something you don't have to stretch your arms a foots length
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
All these things expecting to be super huge is overrated just run a type c cable to your TV if you want a big display or in my case screen mirror it

On the go tho I meant, I use my 10" tablet and a Bluetooth controller for retro gaming while sitting on my porch or on long car rides sometimes. Easier on my eyes than the Switch screen.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
My point is we already have enough shit with big displays having something pocketable with up to ps2 would be fine on the go
