  • Ordered FF VI Advance off Amazon, and received FF IV Advance instead. The seller refunded me AND let me keep the game. #BlownAway

Yeah, but it could've been worse - they could've put one-way screws into the system. As far as I'm concerned, it's none of their business what I do with my system, such practices should be banned. :P

    Holy notifications, Batman!

Anyway, yes I'm aware of the little Nintendo text on real carts. I just felt like double checking anyway since my triwing was right there (I've been on a serious kick lately, opening EVERYTHING to clean, fix, etc with it). Plus I was curious as to whether the save was battery-backed or not.
Clarifying my last post: I guess what I'm really looking for are side scrollers where your character is highly mobile (see comment for more)

Thanks, guys. What do you all think of Silhouette Mirage? I watched some gameplay, and it looks really fun, with some nice run'n'gun gameplay and a cool dash move. Plus, I can easily get it on PSP with an eBoot (since the PSN version was never released in the US).

Never played it and I'm not sure if I'm liking the gameplay, I guess I'd have to try it...

As for the recommendations, here's some more:
    Iron Blood (DOS)
    Noitu Love/2: Devolution (WIN)
    Guacamelee (PS3/PSV)

If you're also interested in something that's not as mobile as Mega Man X, but plays like the original Mega Man, I suggest Journey to Silius/rAf World - buckets of fun.

Ah yes, Noitu Love 2 is pretty fun. Make sure to turn up the difficulty as it's rather easy on normal though (except for the final boss). Also, make sure not to get carpal tunnel while mashing the mouse >_>
Can anyone suggest any side scrollers that use a dash move, similar to Mega Man X or Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance? I love that stuff!

    Sparkster for SNES.

Fyrus, I think slides can count, but it depends. I wouldn't count the slide move in the classic Mega Man games (for example) since it's not spammable.

I guess "spammable" dash/slide moves are what I'm looking for. :P

Anyway, thanks guys! I didn't expect to get any responses. I'll be sure to check these out.

In the meantime, let me know if you have other suggestions. I'm especially looking for handheld titles (especially GB/C/A, 3/DS, PSP).
I'm thisclose to completing my New Year's Resolution of beating every Zelda game. I can't believe I actually stuck with it.

Ah Ninty used to have things to make companies much jelly.. But Sony has become so powerful that it took matters into their own hands. Nintendo became Ash. Sony became Gary. :D
And like in pkm, Sony has always been a thorn in Ninty's side. XD

Well, I am an insane Zelda collector, so unfortunately... *Sigh*...

And just because the Unholy Triforce are official games doesn't mean they aren't spinoff. Link's Crossbow Training is an official game, but it's still a spinoff. Same with similar games in other series, like Halo Wars.
Kirby & the Amazing Mirror >>> New Super Mario Bros. (especially as far as multiplayer is concerned)

I could never get into AM. Especially after being exposed to the amazing Knightmare in dreamland :bortz:
I think Super Mario Bros. 3 ranks right up there with games such as Final Fantasy VII as one of the most overrated games of all time.

Wow. So the NES was released in your country after the SNES?

And even so, it's not like both games haven't been re-released multiple times. There's an up-res'd port of SMB3 on Super Mario All-Stars for the SNES, There were GBA ports of both SMB3 and SMW on the GBA, and both have been available on the Wii's virtual console.

The NES and the SNES were both released at 1993 here. Yeah, you're right, I forgot about the remakes for snes and gba. But with the exception of the gameboy color and maybe the DS, handhelds never been very succesful here and many more people experienced SMW because it was bundled with the Super Nintendo.
Metroid Prime 2 starts off pretty slow, but once it starts to pick up, it REALLY starts to pick up.
Finished off Skyward Sword, now back to Metroid Prime 2... then to finish Super Mario Galaxy!

@NahuelDS, when I have time to play the games, yes. :P

@Eerpow, no I haven't. After I finish Prime 2 and SMG1, I'm going to work on Prime 3, followed by SMG2 (just to keep things from getting too monotonous).

Nice, seems like you have a lot to look forward too, it was thought that SMG would be hard to top, but SMG2 is actually even better.

I heard it's tougher too. I always love it when a sequel does that (Metroid Prime 2 was harder than Metroid Prime, for example), unlike in SOME series *cough*Zelda*cough*
I think it's finally time I get back to Skyward Sword, Metroid Prime Trilogy, and Super Mario Galaxy and finish them off once and for all.

The graphics are not awesome, not awful, beautiful.
knowing someone created an account just to tell me how pissed off at me they are makes me very proud. :P
Saw a perfect condition NES GBA SP for $80 at the local shop today. Was gonna get it until I learned it was frontlit. :(

I actually like the front-light from my gba sp :P

I can't help but wonder how a back-lit gba sp looks in comparison though

based on my comparison, a backlit one doesn't look like there's a flashlight inside it. It's just brighter, like a typical DS.
When did the GCN version of Twilight Princess get so freaking expensive?? Typical these games get expensive as soon as i have money :P
