Looks good but as someone new to this game is it a sequel or can I experience it as it is?
That's the stupidest thing i heard in my entire gaming life and it amazes me over and over and over again when i see it....

I have never played a video game that has some story where i need to know what happened in the previous part so i would be able to play this game or make sense who is who, relation, enemy, ally etc.

That's the thing....
Just because you didn't play games that require knowledge from previous games doesn't mean all games don't.
Just as a small example over the top of my head, God of War Ragnarok would require extensive knowledge of the one prior, so is Horizon and many other games.

His question was valid, only not to you.

I'm surprised it looks and runs as well as it does. I already played it on PC, and I might try it for Switch for fun.

@mr_switch You can definitely play it as it is, but if you want to go deeper into the lore then you might want to play or research Nier Replicant and Drakengard 3. That was pretty valid question b/c after you beat Automata you'll get curious to why things happen the way they did.

Thanks for the helpful reply! Yeah I kinda know it is a sequel to a spinoff game so there is bound to have easter eggs and references that only those who played the previous games can spot!

Has the PC version ever been "fixed"? I could be wrong but I recall it having issues with frame pacing
I think it has. The Microsoft Store version was pretty much fixed I think but then Steam players got mad that theirs wasn't, so they fixed the Steam version too iirc
But the FAR mod is still pretty much a must have (without the DRM tho because fuck mods with DRM)

I did play Nier Automata first, got interested into the lore, played Nier Replicant when it released on PC and I really didn't had any problem.
Well... I had problems lol, but those are problems you would get even if you played in the « right » order (right between quotes because there isn't really a right order imo) since it's always pretty cryptic.
Drakengard 1 and 3 are good to explore on YouTube to have more grasp of the universe and stuff, but each game is definitely something of it's own. I'm sure you'll love it. I know it'll sound like exageration, but I think that when I finished it and got a grasp of what the game was about, it changed my life at least a bit. That's what I think about when people say that video game is art.
