Hey, so i am completly new to Custom Firmware, i played my whole animal crossing on my "normal" setting on the switch, but now, when i wanna cheat, how do i transfer my "normal game save" to my cfw? i have no clue and i can't find something that helpes me.
Thx for reading

Install JKSV. Extract your save data through that. I do believe there's other ways (?) but thats how I personally do it.

sometimes the home fix works, sometimes it does not. hmmm
Try forcing that villager (not the one you want, but who you used to have and whose house you don't want) to go to your campsite (by using a virtual amiibo). I think I had a similar issue, but by doing this, the game knows that the villager who currently is at the campsite, can't be living in your island, so he must be a campist. This worked for me in order to completely delete any remain that she had been living in my island.
Have you tried doing this?

i don't have an amiibo and emuiibo crashes my game
You can manually change the villager that is on the campsite by editing with a hex editor. Still, I'm sure you aren't using emutool to create virtual amiibos. It works perfectly on latest ANS and OFW

Can you be more specific about this process? I cannot seem to get it to work at all. This is my process:

-I have an empty plot available (was occupied by fang, who moved out on their own)
-I goto Mystery island and invite a new villager that I dont want, have Amiibo for, and does not resemble the villager I want at all so I know for sure there are no similarities with house or furniture (I want Raymond, so I'll find a pink girly villager, or something like that)

-I backup my save and edit the villager I dont want into Raymond.

-I restore my save, confirm Raymond now owns the space, then use Amiibo to invite the old character back to the island. (I also do their request just in case)

-finally I advance a day and check the house, and the interior and exterior or both incorrect.

I'm quite confident there isn't a way around this as it stands right now. I've tried everything, including as you have - and the issue persists. I think claims of it working may be a result of people not quite knowing what the house is supposed to look like in the first place. Something I can think of that might work is using hex editing to change the villager in your campsite (once one arrives by chance) to the villager you want, and then inviting them. It's inevitable that NHSE will end up sorting this mess out eventually, so you may want to just wait until then.

Im a bit skeptical myself. Thats why I made sure to choose very different characters to test with.

I also know that I either messed up something when I moved a wrong house or the VERY unlikely coincidence that Lucky and Hans share the exact same exterior design. So it might be possible that you can either A: mess up exterior looks permanently, or B: Characters do share exterior looks. Regardless to which is true, I can see it only adding to the confusion.

Forcing campsite members would be super easy if we had the value for villagers, but unless I missed something we dont.

Its a pain in the butt, but I guess Im going to wait for a more confirmed method, or do it the hard way with a boatload of Nook Miles tickets and an endless amount of patience. 1 in 400 doest sound THAT bad. :P

Heh. If you're anything like me, you've grinded worse odds than 0.25% on numerous occasions. xD I should add that I do know how to change villagers via hex editing, but only on a very basic level - being *who* the villager is. So once I get another camper I can give things a look.

Indeed lol. Anyway I can also give it a look I just need a name of a villager or two (preferably one with an amiibo) and their values. I can probably go the rest of the way. Any information you have can save me a ton of time avoiding a dreaded unknown search.

Well then, boy do I have something for you.

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/C...ources/v1/Text/Villagers/VillagerNames_en.txt

This is from the source code of MyHorizons, a different WIP save editor. Every villager name is listed in an easy-to-read and conveniently hexadecimal manner. In the save file a villager is identified with the two bytes listed. For example, Monique the cat would be 04 0B. Hope this helps.

So, I've got a question, to those that are hacking this game. Are you able to play it online after you do? Connect to others players world and host other players?

I have a clean unpatched Switch, with a physical copy of Animal Crossing that I have been playing normally. My question is, if I decide to install custom firmware and cheat in the game to add certain items or edit miles, bells, etc. Will I be able to play online again with other people?

Its possible but it's not really recommended, and if you already are the type of person that separates yourself from the people who are hacking, Im going to go out on a limb and say that you're a high risk for accidentally ending up banned. I don't mean that offensively, you just really have to know what you are doing if you don't want to accidentally end up banned. Its safer just to keep hacked Switches off of Nintendo's servers, and locally swapping data over to a clean Switch.

@FabolousPotatoePet Okay! I've tried scanning a few QR codes and some work while some don't. I've attached the QR codes in the post so you could have a look. The only one that works is the Pokemon Substitute Doll (the green/yellow one), others don't seem to work for some odd reasons.

Can you download the newest version and try it again? All patterns should work now.
Not the pro pattern tho (Clothing).

A word of warning for people wanting to edit a villager and then kick them out to give to someone else: I accidentally gave two blank plots to someone because the villager didn't move out correctly. I had modded Lionel to Raymond and then time travelled to get him in boxes normally, had my friend come over to talk to him and invite him to their island, and then swapped Raymond out for Audie and invited them over again. In their game, now they have two glitched plots with no names on them. I'm not sure if it's because I modified the same villager to go over there twice (two seperate species, though), or if sending over hacked villagers corrupted something on the way over. Either way, be careful I guess until villagers are figured out better.
