Hi,

My switch has a strange behavior, when i try to boot the console now it gets every time stuck at the nintendo logo, but when i try it a few days later it works again (for the first boot and i think only stock fw).
Tried that at least 4 times in the last month and got the console boot up every time.
The Battery was definitely not empty the last time i tried this.
Im on OS Version 8.1 and had CFW running for many hours.
Since i got this used console the standby never worked (after a few hours in standby the console crashed)

Fuses Info:
0DM 7/6: 10 - 0

Is it because of the burnt fuses? But why does it boot sporadically?

cheers

hm looks like this is not a common problem... Is it a good idea to upgrade the firmware if i can boot up the stock fw again?
I read some things about defect wifi chips.
But i dont get it why the cfw (made from stock with airplane mode enabled) dont boot up after some days like the stock fw.

Sounds like the problem my Switch started having, and I updated it back when this all started happening, and it didn't resolve it, nor did trying to update it today, it actually bootlooped again after it rebooted to apply the update. If I let it sit for some number of days, it will boot again for some amount of time before eventually crashing or until the next time it reboots, when it just bootloops.

Seems to me that the Switch is beginning to show some long term failures in pretty high quantities. It's sad because I have several generations of consoles from all various manufacturers, and the Switch is the only one to have crapped out on me. I even have an Xbox 360 Arcade and it still works fine. Sort of hoping this becomes a hugely widespread problem and that Ninty is forced to issue a recall or out of warranty repair service to resolve this, cuz it otherwise has left a very bad taste in my mouth, especially in light of their other approaches to things since Iwata-san (RIP) left us.

I disagree that only switch has so many issues, i had my Xbox 360 and PS4 replaced twice.
But Nintendo still has loads of issues and mostly because of very poor quality control on items with factories they use. Data lines and power circuits are very badly designed on this consoles so any small short leads to huge issues.

New Versions with longer battery BTW looks way more promising.

But before blaming Nintendo I would check few things that some times can make a difference:
1) Tear down console and make sure your console Joy-Con rails doesn't have any debris or oxidation.
2) Make sure your USB-C port clean(Clean with IPA)
3) Check pins on USB-C port if they aren't bent(sometimes you can really see it only under descent magnification)

I saved few totally flat switches by simply checking those few things.

See, thing is with the 360 and the PS4, both of those consoles are very easily end-user serviceable. The Switch is almost entirely not end-user serviceable because it's all just one singular board for everything, and requires fairly advanced tools the the average user wouldn't have, much less have access to, to even try to troubleshoot.

I mean, you even shoot your own argument in the foot by admitting that data and power circuits are badly designed, which to me, is a blame squarely placed on Nintendo. Everything about the Switch screams cost cutting and rush to deliver, never mind terrible business decisions like not letting you back up your own save files without paying a monthly subscription.

Further, if you read the content of the postings, you'd find these Switch units aren't "totally flat" they just fail to work after running for a uselessly short amount of time and require several days of rest between uses. That's not a console. That's a waste of my time.

At least with my PC, if it failed like this, I could shove my SSD into another machine and be no worse for the wear.

Yuzu will solve all of this very nicely.

yeah ill try that mby disconnecting my wifi antena also helps.

Tried to boot android and now im 100% sure that my wifi has a problem. Cant turn it on in android but bluetooth works flawlessly.
Is it possible to change that wifi chip with little soldering skills? :D or do i have to swap the whole mainboard?
Found something like "Broadcom BCM4356" on Aliexpress...

cheers
