You're missing the timeframe in your post? How long has it been since it happened, did u dry it and left it for like 48h+ so that it fully dries? Sometimes turning it on right after slightly drying it will cause issues, the second thing is that water damage can be a bitch, meaning having it work when docked doesn't mean that it will always work that way or there will be no more issues in the future.

Thanks for the reply. How do I test them? Like a capacitor? I see they each have 4 contact points. Where should I put my probes and am I testing for continuity to ground?

test point 1 and 2 they have continuity
same with red numbers 3 and 4
repeat this with all filters.
if not continuity is broken and they need replace.

Hey guys, I have a spare switch that was dropped in water. I took out the motherboard and cleaned it with 91% alcohol. And all connectors and ribbon cables were cleaned as well. When I plug it in it recieves 0.39-0.4 amps @ 5 volts but never goes into fast charging. The battery tests good and does charge, the capacitors by the charging IC and video IC were checked, no shorts. Although one capacitor had no resistance on one side and very little resistance, but not quite pure continuity on the other side. Is that as good as a short? I don't think it's shorted because it does charge, and video is being processed and put out on the TV in docking mode. But I don't get video on the LCD screen.

I took the water damaged motherboard out again and installed it in a known working switch and I'm not getting video on the LCD screen on that one either. But I am getting it out on the TV. That means the video IC is good, correct?

Any ideas?

did you manage to fix this?? cause im actually having the same issue, mines just a little bit different.. im not getting any display on lcd. just backlight. but i can hear the sound that the unit is working and booting up and touch screen is also working when im testing it. displays works only docked mode. lcd fpc connector looks very good, no bent pins. and this one is not water damaged. lcd is also working as i already swapped a good motherboard.

already tested filers near ic and fpc connector, no shorted. just wandering whats wrong with this unit. very weird...

In November 2017 we had a very heavy rain in my country that turned over house into fountain. The stairs were cover in water and the water was moving everywhere.

Anyway all my consoles were on the second/last floor, the last floor was a pool.

All of my consoles were laying on the ground. PS4, Xbox one x and Mony others.

I remember lifting them up and I saw water pouring from them hehe like a glass of water.

The next day we traveled to Paris and stayed there for 15 days.

Fortunately, they dried out and worked fine. However the Xbox one x now only reads blu ray discs, it does read Xbox 360 games anymore.

I was almost lose every game system I have :-(.

Your LCD is likely bad.

Ok, so the new digitizer game in and I replaced it carefully, still no touchscreen. What are the circuits that deal with the touch screen?

I tried a known working cartrige reader as well, checked all the pins and connectors through a microscope and they all look good. Still no touch.

Touch is completely dead or just has dead middle area?

I included picture: basically if you using replacement digitizer most of them from china and require to have old version of game cartridge slot.
The way how you can identify old over new that old one has two elements on circuit that i marked red.
If you don't have those elements your touch will not work properly and you need older revision of the slot.

On picture: Top one is New revision and bottom one is Old revision.

I just found a capacitor that is missing. I guess it broke off in the ultrasonic cleaner or during an acid brush + IPA scrubbing. Now I just need to find a replacement for it. It's the one circled in red.
