New job descriptions suggest that Obsidian is currently hiring for a "high profile RPG"

Microsoft-is-Buying-Obsidian-Entertainment-Report.jpg

While Obsidian Entertainment has been busy lately, being bought up by Microsoft and creating the highly-anticipated RPG The Outer Worlds, the company appears to be working on yet another project, behind the scenes. According to a job listing recently posted on Linkedin, Obsidian is on the hunt for twelve new writers and developers who are willing to work on a multiplatform "AAA high profile role-playing game", with melee and ranged combat gameplay, and a day and night cycle, which runs on Unreal Engine 4. While a Pillars of Eternity 3 would be expected for the studio, it seems that this project will be more like The Outer Worlds, seeing as that it runs on UE4, rather than Tyranny and Pillars, which both ran on Unity, as well as the fact that the game will take place in a first-person POV. If this game makes it to the development stage, we'll likely see a teaser trailer for it at next year's Microsoft E3 conference.

Epic Store exclusive I'm sure

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Isn't that already Outer Worlds?
not even Outter-world is EPIC only, is day one on microsoft

And since Micro bought obsidian they said no more EPIC only stuff, sadly it was already EPIC only when microsoft bought it

So you can buy OutterWords for 1,99 on PC game pass day one and never support EPIC and make them lose money

That's not guaranteed. It was Outer Worlds' publisher, Private Division, who made the decision to go EGS exclusive. If Obsidian self-publishes or use a different publisher for their next game, odds are high that it'll be listed on several storefronts.

(Also, oddly enough, Outer Worlds isn't fully exclusive, it's gonna be on the Xbox PC app at launch. Epic only seems to care about keeping games off Steam temporarily.)

God I hope it's kotor remakes. Kotor2 was a masterpiece when it came out but because of the time restrictions they had it was never officially finished.

The fan made kotor 1 project got shut down, which was disheartening. It would be really cool to see these 2 games remade and continued on. And personally I dont consider the old Republic (online mmo) as a proper sequel in the series, even if they did bring back revan.

Obsidian is owned by MS now.

My guesses is Fable. That was a beloved MS IP. That finished on a high note (not counting the stupid Kinect game). They wanted to something and tried with legends but it was fucking awful. It sucked. I played the beta it deserved it. So they are just brining a proper 4 game.

Nah, people who game on PC don't game on console and vice versa. Hence why MS putting out games for both Xbox and PC.
"people who game on PC don't game on console"

Do you seriously think that? Maybe it's a smaller percentage, but I definitely do both.
