Hacking molecularshell problem after downgrading to 3.60

I chose Preparing for Trinity

All went fine. I downgraded to firmware 3.60 as instructed. It is on 3.60 now. This is where the problems began.

Messages not mentioned in the guide
I got 2 messages.
During downgrading, I got a message asking me to transfer internal memory data to external (memory card?)...words to that effect. I was given the choice of yes or no. I chose yes. Is this correct?

Then I was shown a message about having to update in order for my memory card to be able to be used (or something). I chose No. I assume that is Sony wanting users to be on the latest firmware. Is that correct?

The problem after 3.60 downgrade - molecularshell won't show
I cannot install Molecularshell despite multiple tries. Henkaku installed fine but disappears after reboot (as it should). Molecularshell bubble just doesn't show up on the screen despite trying to re-install it multiple times (R shoulder button). Henkaku is always fine.

I could go to henkaku.xyz website earlier to try again but now I can't: Vita's wonderful browser is showing a "Could not communicate using SSL (C2- 14900-4)" error message on all the sites I tried, including henkaku.xyz. I don't know why. Maybe a public wifi login issue, but it worked before.

The unit is a Vita Slim (it isn't even mine). How important is this downgrading step? I'm at square one now, right? Should I just update to the official latest firmware and start hacking it again or do something else?

Do a factory reset if you are on 3.60 already, and redo henkaku.xyz url thing and then install enso.

Did factory reset. It wanted me to unlink the PSN account before doing so, warning me that I won't be able to do it later. Couldn't unlink PSN account because of SSL error. I reset anyway, not worrying about unlinking account. Tried to install Henkaku again on different public wi-fi. It worked, but molecularShell bubble still doesn't show up.

Argh. Same as before, despite firmware being 3.60 instead of 3.70.
I remember using the henkaku offline installer with my Vita. Maybe that's worth a try with this one? I don't know. Head needs a rest.

I believe choosing yes on the first message is what caused this problem, to fix you'll have to format mem card and then rerun henkaku from the website.

Not so smooth
But of course it didn't go so smoothly with me: there was another roadblock. I installed enso but didn't run it. The guide should change the Section III heading to Launching and activating Enso since it was already installed in the previous step (bubble shows up), it just wasn't run to activate it.

So I got a lovely error message when starting anything since henkaku disappeared after reboot (c1-6775-5) and Enso wasn't activated. Re-run Henkaku website and installed Enso. Phew.

The marathon is over. Hopefully my friend isn't too pissed about the formatted card. Thanks again.

Sure no problem! Choosing yes in that msg formats the card into some wierd state unfortunately. So when you format again it fixes it.
Hopefully your friend had backups
#1 rule I've learned is backup as often as needed. can't tell you how many time I've lost everything and had to start all over lol.

Hah, true. I should have backed-up his card but didn't. He hasn't backed-up for sure.

I asked him to try the Vita Hacks Guide multiple times (because I really wasn't up for the mental trauma after hacking mine). It is too much for him to do. It almost killed me too. Hehe.
