They're at my GitHub @ https://github.com/JakobAir/ViperGC

I hope someone out there can make use of these files. It's taken me years to find almost all the Viper GC (Extreme) files. Have fun!

Oh I've had your github open for months, I updated my viper today with it from 0.2 to 2.1, thanks a ton for the files!

I noticed you added the viper GC SDK, I'm assuming this is for the loader to program the viper via parallel?

If so, I wonder if it's possible to modify it to work with a usb serial(with db25 adapter)/parallel cable instead of using legacy parallel addresses like 278/378

If not I assume it'd at least be a good addition for those PCI parallel ports that can't be remapped to legacy addresses, I'm definitely gonna take a look into it, but I doubt I'll get amazingly far with it. Thanks again!

No problem! I'm happy someone out there can make use of what I archived. The Viper GC SDK isn't to flash the chip but to write programs for it. The Viper Loader is for flashing the chip via parallel. I've never rerouted DB25 (parallel) to USB or the other way around. I've got an Athlon 64 I use for archiving that has a DB25 that I use. I just remembered that the 8 Bit Guy did a video about parallel conversion, but I just looked it up and it was a parallel to AdLib card. Your best bet might be to get a DB25 to USB cable, but I've never used one so I can't recommend it for sure. Do you have the original Viper GC chip with parallel or the Viper GC Extreme with USB? I've got the first one.

I've got the viper GC with the parallel on the back (original viper, non extreme), I had to burn a disc just to update it so it was a little bit of a pain and I don't have a machine with a parallel port these days, and getting a remappable PCI parallel port is seemingly the only option, but I did attempt to use the parallel port on a windows 10 machine I had access to temporarily with the port mapped to 378 the viper loader couldn't detect the viper, followed the directions in the PDF too, put both of the dip switches in the off position and even tried having the machine powered down first, could not detect it at all. I think I've got a usb to db25 cable somewhere but without being able to map it to the legacy addresses required or changing the viper loader to allow using a custom address (option is grayed out, maybe it was planned but never made?) it's a grand shame since I don't know enough about the viper or the usb > parallel protocols to know where to even begin to begin. I think the end goal desire would be to modify the viper bios to accommodate for SD card browsing or chainloading swiss, latter would probably be more beneficial. I'm interested in pursuing it but currently have no easy way to program my viper, so I'm very apprehensive of actually starting anything.
