Oh really? So that's how you solve it... well that's good! I'm glad a faster way has been found (wish that was around when I spent four days trying to solve it *insert angry reply here*) :ha:
yeah I was one of the first people to run into that error very very early in the OTP rush, when it just had started, and discovered that workaround after restoring 10 sysNAND backups with my hardmod

Umm... I don't wanna update so how do we get in devmode? normal rxmode?

Haha I wish I had a hardmod during those times. I must have been legit stupid because I tried 10+ times downgrading sysnand using the old method. It's a miracle I never got a brick.

no, go into the advanced menu and click devmode... it may not work in emuNAND, however, I just realized that you don't need it so just restart sysUpdater :)
ok thank you again :)
EDIT:O I am in a weird 2.1 kind of home menu ... trying again... If only I could dump here?
Is native firm downgraded and everything? Maybe I can actually get it... what do you think I try it?
No just noticed it downgrading my native firm ! yay its successful thank you sooooo much both and yeah I didn't have to update Just Passing By ... So now the feeling kicks in
Lemme flash it to sysnand(no hardmod I don't have one)using decrypt9]

OOOOOMMMMMGGGG ITS RESTORING MY SYSNAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!OOO

IM ON 2.1 SYSNAND HOOOOORAY
it wants me to update but noooooo N no
What flashes :( its just stuck there guess ill power off in about a min
Maybe its just as unstable as broswerhax
oh my god my poor bottom screen :( yeah I got flashes oh the way it turns off is spooky
guess i made my blog here:)

If I con convince my sister to lend me her N3DS to do some testing, I'd be happy to help out. I don't have a hardmod on it though, but I didn't on my O3DS and it's been running a9lh perfectly for the past week :P

i don't know where i went wrong, i did everything exactly but my unbricked sysNAND.bin and emuNAND_autofixed.bin do not match
EDIT: i restored emunand_bricked.bin to emunand and ran unbrick FW 2.1 emunand again and reran the pc unbricker they both generated the exact same files as last time but still different from eachother.

Well, after all, successful installation of arm9loaderhax using the OTP Guide and OTP Helper.
Both emunand_autofixed.bin and sysnand.bin were equal, the af9.bin and otp.bin were also equal.
Inject emunand_autofixed.bin using the otp helper and entirely correct.
Otp dumped by the otp helper and reinject my original copies of the nand (sysnand and emunand.bin made from decrypt9) and went back to 9.2 without problems.
Now I have arm9loader with sysnand 9.2 / 10.6 emunand working properly.
(All on n3ds)

OK, got my OTP.bin from Plailect's guide...
WAIT WAIT WAIT how the hell am I supposed to load arm9.bin? Do I just use the arm11.bin in the otphelper package?

reporting that this program is definitely not foolproof, i don't know if it doesn't like my sd card or my 3ds or if it's just a random error but.
it can definitely make a bad nand and think it worked after a few more tries i finally figured out the pattern.
slightly more than half the time it incorrectly identifies SD EmuNAND: MultNand instead of GW EmuNAND
when that happens Unbrick FW 2.1 EmuAND appears to work but results in a corrupt nand and trying to backup the emunand will ask which one you want to backup instead of autodetecting the only real one and fail no matter which one i choose.
not working %100 of the time isn't a problem but corrupting the nand when you think it worked could be a big problem, my 3ds would have been bricked if i had written either one of the first two files to sysnand without comparing to the unbricked sysnand created by the pc file.
i have am using this 3ds and this sdcard
EDIT: the otp dumper got the exact same files as the other one, much cleaner looking too.

Back to my question. How do I load the arm9? The arm11 gave me a black screen. Both are from the OTPhelper. I already got my OTP, but I wish to test out OTPhelper (and get my name on the OP :P)

Last edited by Swiftloke,
Just used files from OTPHelper package while going through Plailect's guide at the same time on my N3DS, fixed 2.1 NAND dumps matched (for test #1), as well as OTP 0x100 (test #2). I'm now back on my "old" sysNAND (and "old" emuNAND), about to install A9LH [EDIT: full success]...

What's the status of OTPHelper, is it safe to use now? I see it posted on the OTP guide now, just wanted to see if anyone had success with it.
