GBAtemp game of the week- week #3
Secret Files: Tunguska
This is week #3 of the GBAtempbook game club and if you have been here before we welcome you back and we also extend a welcome to those joining us for the first time. In these threads we suggest a game to play and a week later we get together to discuss it.
Generally the game will be from one of the main systems we cover but it could be any piece of code the system can claim to run- it might be a good piece of homebrew, a game from the early days, a game dwarfed by other releases but good none the less, should a hack arise that catches our eye then that too will be here. Our only aim is that it be a game you do not regret playing through.[/p]
Secret Files: Tunguska
Although in the early days some might have heralded the DS as the would be saviour of point and click/adventure games history tells a different story- this is not to say things did not get done with the GBA series of Turnabout trial (known outside Japan by the games featuring Phoenix Wright whose name adorned the first few English translations and other games set in the universe) and Hotel Dusk being some stunning examples of the genre on any platform. This game hit in 2008 (although it was only this time last year it appeared in North America as a budget game) at the time being a port of a two year old PC game which might have caused some people to overlook it. It has since seen a sequel but this game we hold is not to be overlooked- it might not be the game that turns you onto adventure games but even if you have a passing interest in the genre not counting this among the games would be an oversight.[/p]
